Is this cannondale worth it?
 

Hey i found this on craigslist and im unfamiliar with cannondales so i need help.

Is this bike worth the price? If not how much is it worth? I was considering an 07 allez...should i stay with that thought?

They are asking a lot for a 8spd sora bike and an outdated frame.It looks like it was wrecked at one point as the fork is not stock.

Offer $700 only if they will toss in the platform pedals.

Seriously, it's overpriced. I'd worry about it's history due to the mismatched fork.

Offer him $200. You can get that bike new with those components. Some of the stuff on craigslist are high priced. Last week a saw af Flite saddle for $150. Well, I can buy one for les than that anytime.

Mind you they do have some great deals. Last year I picked up a set of 4 snow tires on rims brand new for $225 cash that would have cost me $1400 plus taxes. Recently, I got a Sony Wega 2005 32 inch TV for my son's game room for $75. I have one of those that I paid $1500 for some years ago.

As far as bikes go I have had not much luck there. My last bike I bought on Ebay and bought some components there as well, very cheap.

I just bought a 2004 Raleigh SuperSport for $600 cash on craigslist. Full 105 (brakes, cranks, everything). It's an awesome bike, and it was in great condition. I'd say it's about 34 times better than that cannondale.

Oh, and definitely be very afraid about the mismatched fork. Especially since it looks like an old steel fork. Pretty much any road bike above a few hundred dollars should have a carbon fork no matter what. And who knows if the head tube has cracks in it that you can't see or whatever.

I wouldn't even consider getting this bike. Hold out for a few days/weeks, and you'll find a killer deal. Good luck.

thanks dude i was so gonna give in to my LBS and get that allez...i know itll be wrong but im very impatient...i want that killler deal now! sigh it just sucks not being able to ride....
