New to Road Bikes, Tips?
Hey everyone,
I've been lurking for awhile and have always wanted to own a road bike but never got around to it. My roommate has gotten me into it, but we have much different body types.
I am searching a good first road bike for myself, and just recently realized that I have to consider certain components based on my weight etc. I am 6'1 and 210 lbs.
I want to pick up a nice bike off of craigslist preferably my goal is to find something that is a good deal, and that I won't have to upgrade for awhile. I went to my LBS to checkout whats out there, and prices. And most of the bikes I liked were out of my range. I want to keep it under $1000. But perhaps I should just go with a new bike while waiting for a clearance, since I could probably find a LBS that would give free services, etc.
I am keen on this bike, although I can' find much information on it. The guy lives quite far from me so I am hesitant on making a long commute just to see I don't like it. https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/bik/718787322.html
Otherwise I just wanted to say hi, and will appreciate any tips you can shoot my way. I've been riding my mountain bike for 15 years, but stopped recently due to a back injury. And its finally time to pick up the big boy bike

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
Hurry up and get that bike.
I'll bet it's the right size, or at least close enough to work with (a stem swap is all that you'd need if it's too long). 105 parts are good, too.

I'm basically the same size as you. I'd be going and looking at that bike with cash in hand if it were near me.
