Do you have a Tuesday night ride?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Deadliest Catch is okay, but Man Vs. Wild is better.

Hogi Yogi ride meets every Tuesday afternoon at 6:00 in downtown Redlands near the Hogi Yogi restaurant. It starts each season on the first Tuesday following the time change, and ends when the time changes back. It's a short but really fun hill climbing ride and is ridden much like a race by most who participate. It's a good time to go out and destroy yourself trying to hang on to the stronger riders. It's a weekly ritual for me, and I rarely miss it.

I must ride the Austin Tuesday Nighter every week to remind myself how badly I suck. Oh, and it's 98 degrees this afternoon. Ugh.

Yes we do. And I consider myself especially lucky if I make it home unscathed.

Tuesday nights in San Diego are track racing. The group-ride death-fest is on Thursdays. Or. at least, so the legend says -- I'm too fat, slow, and fond of my skin to go find out firsthand.

I'm baaaack.

2 guys + me at the rollout, 2 other guys joined us further North. I'm much better, faster, stronger. Last time I did this ride (we've had inclement weather for the past several weeks) I had my a@@ handed to me on the Roberts Ave. climb, but today, it was no problem. I split once we got into Tarrytown, and went on home. Quite fast, if I may add.

Yup. But unfortunately those bastages like to ride after 1900hrs. With a 2 month old and an 18 month old papa has gotta get his riding in early.

You oughta take Metro North up to White Plains some time and come on our Tuesday/Thursday night rides from downtown WP at 6pm. We do the Gimbels long and/or regular routes, minus the super-sketchy behavior.

Hollywood!

>Everyone has one. But none of them ever made it to Hollywood.<

Not true - I rode up to the base of the Hollywood sign tonight.

Here's a view out over Hollywood and Los Angeles - different ride, different bike, but a similar view of what I saw tonight, with the Hollywood Reservoir below.
