Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, you might be surprised at the number of Mexican racers who come up for the event every year. They also tend to do pretty well. Those guys (and gals) are really fast.

All the highway signs south of Tucson and thereby on the edge of the course are in kms funny enough.

When my kids grow up there will be 4 more added to that community.

Unfortunately we didn't get to hear Robb Roll say El Tour DAY Tucson a couple of years ago at the start line just before he sped off to catch a plane. The least he could have done was leave us with a catch phrase, even if he was going to be a dork and not ride with us, or at least stick around.

Because that's how the French pronounce the name of their own country.
