Schwinn Serial Number Help

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Schwinn Serial Number Help

I recently got a Schwinn Circuit serial number A730774 Very nice bike, forged dropouts, adjustment screws, chromed seat and chain stays in flat black. Need help dating it and cannot locate a link to Schwinn 80's and 90's. Anybody have one? Thanks, -billS

The headbadge will have a 4-digit number. The last digit is the year. Compare the bike to these pages to determine the decade: https://www.trfindley.com/pg_schwinn_cats.htm
The Cooper-Findley collection has catalogs 1980-2000.

Thanks

SN is 0717 but cannot locate exact bike on the link you mention.

It is a Schwinn Circuit and guessing I would say it's an 87 not a 97.

Identical to this

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=010

but mine is flat black. Not bad for the equivalent of a $20 trade. My is she fast!!!!!

Thanks again,

-billS
