Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need recommendation for SPD Pedal "Platform" adapter

Hello,

I'm going to be doing a little light commuting and will need to wear regular shoes. My bike has SPDs and I am hoping to find an adapter that allows me to "plug in" an adapter that turns my SPDs into a platform or toeclip type of pedal.

I am aware of
https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...slisearch=true

but I'm maybe looking for a few more options since that one doesn't look like it works too well.

Anybody have success using these things?

Thanks
MM

You can buy the shimano pedal that has platform on one side and SPD on another. Nothing you buy for your current pedals will be as ideal aS this setup.

Shimano m324

my pedals on my touring bike are dual-sided SPD's. I have installed an excellent platform on one side of the pedals. They are much nicer than the performance campus pedals mentioned above (I also have those on a hybrid bicycle.) I ordered them through a LBS in Olympia, WA. I can't remember the name of the platforms and I've been unable to zero in on them with a google search. I'm sure if you call the LBS they will be able to help you out. You can get contact info at their website www.olybikes.com

I have these on my hybrid. They're nice, but I find it hard to find the correct side and my left foot usually rides un-clipped-in for a while (or the opposite; in sneakers it rides on the clip). It's a reasonable compromise, though; grocery shopping in bike shoes sucks
