Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Handlebar measurement!

I'm used to Ritchey's measurements... I ride a 40 C-C width bar, but I'm trying to buy something in the Deda line. They don't make a 40, but they make a 42 measured Outside-Outside. Is this roughly equivalent?

Subtract 2cm from O-O to get C-C.

UT Dude, just read part of your blog and see you're an LHB-er... small world! Was in 99-04 but still in "college" mix in a way... Do you know Ashleigh the mello? She's my g/f.

Anyhow, just getting into cycling for health benefits and fun. You are from Austin, I take it?

I have a 40cm(C-C) Ritchey Classic on one bike and a 42cm(O-O) Deda Newton Shallow on another bike. They're very close to the same width bars, probably less than half a cm difference.
