Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ksyrium SSC SL or Soul S3.0

had the Soul wheels all lined up to be put on my new RS2 but then a buddy gave me his old(2003/2004) set of Ksyrium SSC SLs. All I know about the mavics is that they weigh about the same as the Souls.

So, should I use the Ksyriums or the Souls? Does one have a significant benefit over the other?

I have the exact same Ksyrium SLs on my 2003 Allez. Sweet wheels. Eleventynine bazillion miles on them and still true as when they were new. I can't say anything about the Souls as I haven't tried them. they look nice though...

If they will return any your email quickly, you can post a postiive review about them.

The Mavics will probably need a new free hub body or at least relubing if you keep them.

My SSC SL rear hub was done after about 3k miles, IMO it's a pure racing set, not good for training miles. I have no first hand experience with Souls, so I refrain myself to comment about that.

I would agree. Use one for training (probably the Mavics) and the other for racing.
