That's awesome if you happen to find yourself leading the Tour de France and are in need of some shoes to match your jersey/bike/helmet/gloves/socks/saddle/hudz that you brought along just in case.

Adidas owned Mavic for several years. They just sold them recently.

I totally dig the yellow. Though if they'll use the same last as the shoes they used to make under the Adidas brand, I think I'll stay with Northwave.

You guys beat me to this. I was just about to post about Mavic shoes, and wondering if anyone had seen them.
By the way, I don't think Adidas owned Mavic. Salomon was making cycling shoes under contract for Adidas, and the contract ended. They are now making them under contract for Mavic.

Adidas owned both Salomon and Mavic. Sold them both to free up cash for their purchase of Reebok. Trust me, my wife works for Adidas. I used to have access to 1/2 priced Mavic and Salomon gear. Now I get 40% of Reebok and Rockport instead...

Banzai might be right that it's technically a Salomon design. I think Salomon and Mavic were sold as a package deal and might still be affiliated. I've seen a lot more of those straps on Salomon stuff than anything in the (non-cycling) Adidas lines.

For instance, the company has a foot-measuring machine that takes a 3D image of both left and right feet. Using this, Mavic has measured thousands of feet to create new sizing standards and has adjusted the dimensions of its shoes accordingly. The pragmatic payoff: cycling shoes that are exceedingly comfortable for more riders. Really. I, for instance, have a wide, fat foot. Traditional Euro styles have been long and narrow. But Mavic discovered that long and narrow isn't how most people's feet are shaped; knowing this, their shoes are now proportionally designed to fit the vast majority of buyers. You might find yourself going down a few sizes as a result (as I did), but who cares? If you can fit into a smaller shoe that fits perfectly you'll shave a few grams and your feet will be happier.
