Cannondale frame replacement program?
Hi all,
I crashed pretty hard in a race last week and, in addition to breaking a few bones, cracked my Synapse frame. I talked to the local Cannondale dealer who tells me there is a crash replacement program that ought to save me some money, but he didn't have any dollar figures on hand, and will get back to me in a few days. In the meantime I am considering whether to continue with the carbon Synapse at all, and maybe to go with a CAAD9 which might be both cheaper and more appropriate to the kind of riding I am doing lately anyway.
Does anyone know what the crash replacement costs of these two frames are? Is the difference enough to cover the cost of the non-BB30 crankset I would have to buy for a different frame?

Sounds like a question for Roadwarrior.

The CAAD9 is a sweet frame, might just go with it versus getting another synapse.

Your dealer has these in their dealer book. That's the best place to go. It's not rocket science. All he has to do is look it up. It takes two seconds.
If you go with a 9, chances are good the frame is available. FWIW, I'd stick to the Synapse. With the sounds of your crash, you'd be replacing a frame anyway, and the Synpase was raced extensively by Liquigas last season with a lot of success. If it's a price point, then the 9's a fine bike.
But do check with your dealer.

The Synapse was probably not ridden by Liquigas. You're probably thinking of either the SystemSix or SuperSix. For a while, Bennatti was riding a custom Caad9 until they laid-up some carbon for his custom SuperSix which has a freakish geometry of a 52cm seat tube and 58cm top tube.

Hm. That's not as much of a discount as I was hoping. Was that for the CAAD? With fork or no?

I know from which I speak.
Thanks for your input.

You can buy a Synapse in the official Leaky-gas color scheme. I don't doubt the frame is fine for racing, since that is what I have been doing all season. I just wonder if the CAAD9 might be more appropriate for crits since the handling is supposed to be a little more crisp. And maybe it would have survived the recent crash a little better?
