how much could i get for my 2005 aluminum giant tcr1 with mavic kasyrium wheels and campy centaur 10 speed drivetrain?

my first bike, dont know what to sell it for.

That's a hard question to answer since there are so many variables. For example, condition of bike, location, time of year, etc...

If I were you I would do a completed item search on EBay to see what similar bikes sold for.

Also, now is the time of year to put it up, during or right after the TDF, the prices on EBay seem to skyrocket.

the driver side came out real blurry. but thats the bike. all the parts have less than 200 miles on them. the frame doesnt have that many more.

Why sell it? Seriously you are going to hate what it is worth because a 3 going on 4 year old Al bike with components that are a generation old (even if they only have 200 miles on them) just isn't in high demand. It is a nice looking bike though. $500-$700 woul dbe my guess...any more and you are doing good.

I have seen several of the carbon version go for $1000-1200 on craigslist. So 7-900.

Why sell it? Seriously, It is a nice looking bike. You'll never get what you put into it...KEEP IT, as a back up, commutor or eventually a rain bike or beater.

If anything, strip the components off the bike, because Centaur stuff is really nice, and throw it all on another, different frame, and sell the Giant frame to recoup the cost.

Why? It's entry level racing (comparable with Shimano 105) although nice it's not exceptional.

i do like it (although im not as into the compact geometry look as i was when i got it), i just dont have anyone to ride with anymore. the 2 guys i use to ride with moved away. since then i have ridden very little =( so i was going to sell it to help buy a mountain bike (which i was going to buy anyways).

i can see myself wanting to ride it the week after i sell it tho.

maybe ill just part with the frame???

maybe just keep it? I'm always on solo rides because I never liked organized sports. Sometimes my friends come along and sometimes we pick up a couple of stranglers from the group ride that left earlier that day. I see no reason to sell a bike. The one I have now will turn into a full time commuter when I buy a new bike probably this coming winter. My bike is 13 years old and has 10's of thousands of miles on it and when I get a new bike/can't find anybody to ride with I'm not selling it. I'll clean it up where it needs to be clean, and dirty it up where it doesn't need to be clean and there I go, a bike that looks like crap but performs just the same. No worries about leaving it around town at that point, and since I won't be using that bike for anything other than commuting I won't worry about things on it as much. You'll regret selling it.

Weight and pricewise, it's more on the keel with Ultegra/Ultegra SL, which is good enough for anyone not getting paid to ride a bike.

yeah the stragglers from other group rides are better informed and always carry mace around so we're good to go.

I watch craigslist all the time and see great bikes for cheap. You will never get a decent value on resale. People will always talk you down or just simply never give you what it's worth.
Also, once it's gone, it's gone, then what?
A lot of times, after you take a break you miss it and want to get back into it.
Bottom line is, it's a nice bike and is worth more in your house than a few hundred that you'll blow through and not have your bike you really like.
Also, try some LBS's to see if they have group rides that you can join up with.
Good luck and I recommend keeping it.

Definitely a nice looking bike. You would be majorly disappointed after being low balled over and over and regret the day (which will come) when you want to ride it...
