TDF fantasy league - by Performance

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I thought Kirchen was a great value when I picked my team, and it looks like a lot of others had the same idea.

Thanks. I reread the scoring and you don't get points for best young rider anyways.

Yep. Also thought Kirchen was a value pick. Also liked Devolder, but then I thought he might be a better one-day event rider than a grand tour rider, so I reluctantly cast him off. But Devolder is indeed a tempting pick!

Ok it's stupid to reveal your own picks and reasoning before the lineups are closed. That said. How can you possibly pass on Devolder at 200.

Name me one better selection available for 200?

It's stupid to divulge your picks if you really give a rat's derriere about the prizes. If you're just in it for the fun, I don't think it's stupid at all...and I don't care about the prizes. I never said Devolder wasn't a good pick. Best displayed by me dropping him to pick up some other rider. I gave my justification in a previous post.

Sorry, I didn't fully answer your question. I have three riders on my roster that were $200. I don't know for certain that they're better picks, but you always roll the dice with fantasy stuff and see what happens. Like I said, just for fun for me.

Mccartney isn't riding the tour
http://www.steephill.tv/2008/tour-de-france/

Performance did a poor job of listing riders that aren't even riding the tour so you have to check your selections yourself...

How hard could it be for Performance to check the start list... it'd save us all the trouble. If one person at Performance would check the list, it'd prevent thousands of people from needing to...

How hard is it for each person to check the list? Took me all of about 5 minutes. Plus there is a slight advantage for the people who pay attention over people who are listing Astana members, or Boonen.

There are riders racing that aren't on their list either. How hard would it be for Performance to come up with an accurate list...
