Assos gloves?
As good as the bibs?
Anyone rocking them? |
Good, but may or may not work for you. If the bibs are a 10, I would say the gloves are a 8.
|
I'm using one. It is finely made. No complaints except that it hurts the space between my thumb and pointing finger during the first 4 usage but I think it already adapted the shape of my hand so it doesnt hurt anymore.
It is very flexible and the way it is made is really good. |
you can find the same gloves with other labels on them besides assos. they are just "ok". I wouldn't buy another.
|
I have used them for about 5 years... the latest ones are better even though they took away the pulls to remove the gloves due to them ripping off anyway...
Padding makes them comfortable... I use 2 pair continuosly all year round and probably get 2 1/2 seasons maximum from gloves before the stretch makes them too big... not much to really complain about since I get 120+ rides a year.. |

i am in the market myself. thinking about Specialized as $50 bones for gloves seems excessive. i think? ;) later. |

^^^^ those be the ones.
later. |
I switched to Assos summer gloves this spring after going through PI Race gloves way too fast -- like 3 pairs a season. The PI padding is great but the palms keep ripping through on me -- they get wet (duh) and then tear.
So far the Assos have the number of miles where PIs would be about shot for me; the Assos show zero sign of having ever been worn. They're not even sweat caked, for some reason. I'm amazed. No more or less comfortable to me than the PIs, and I'm not a fan of the solid back with no velcro strap (a little harder to get on/off, but not a big deal), but the wear is fantastic. Well worth the premium over the PIs. (I paid about $54.) |

because you wash them?

I have been using a couple pairs of the specialized gloves that botto posted for over a year now. Wash them about every other week and they work great. They even come in XXL which is good for me as I have large hands.

I have them, the ones without the pull-off loops between the fingers (there is, however, a tab on the index finger which you can use to get them off.) So far so good, but not that much use yet for longer rides... I really like the longer tail over the wrist, seems like it would definitely keep you from tearing yourself up in a fall in a spot where you're likely to touch down a bit.
The only other relevant design detail that struck me is the lack of velcro (kind of cool) and the mesh palms (very cooling, as it were.) |
I have the Assos winter glove system. The inner liners are falling apart after less than one season.
|
Do Assos gloves run small like the bibs do or are the pretty much the same sizing as PI gloves?
|
i am a big fan of assos clothing but was disappointed in the quality of the gloves. 2 pairs each lasted less than a month. they did run smaller than other brands. this was a few years back
