release date for SRAM rivforcred?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

QBP? I work at a shop as well.

If so, how the hell do I get the part numbers since the catalog doesn't come out for a while?

Has sram even released any info on their 09 groups? Any changes? weight loss? pricing? Trim for the FD in force/rival?

I have been trying to keep an ear out for the 09 sram stuff, but have not heard anything.

I never look at the print catalog unless I want to waste time... I mean take a break from doing repairs. I look up everything online. Shows stock and has a watch list for things out of stock. Ask your boss for a login. They can set it up restrictions so you cant order things if they are worried you'd go on a shopping spree

Force and Rival get the Zero loss internals for the left/front shifter, adustable reach, dual routing, and the longer Red brake lever blade. Rival comes in a black finish and now has a carbon brake blades. Trim is now in the big ring. I think thats a bout it. The red cassettes get a few more ratios 11-25 and 11-28.

You haven't been listening very hard then... It's been brought up here many times, Force & Rival are getting nearly all of Red's features. Shorter FD through, FD trim, adjustable reach, etc.. Also, Rival is getting carbon levers. Don't know how that translates into weight for Force & Rival compared to 08.

There have been a few accounts (on other forums/sources) that Red will get a *tad* lighter as well. Which, personally, I like.

I've been thinking of ditching my DA for some new Rival/Force mish mash. Is this wrong? Lighter, cheaper, and woks well. It seems like a no brainer to me.

Yeah. Why bother with Force at all. Rival is functionally identical, not any heavier really, and cheaper.

If you aren't concerned about weight, then Rival would be fine.

If you are concerned about component weight (and again, to each their own), then you will select your components based off of that criteria.

Cool - Rival is going all black for 09. I've been meaning to upgrade my black centurion from the current downtube shifters. Will probably go this route.

I used the new super light weight invisible pedals for this build....

3 bike and only 2 sets of pedals - someone's gotta go without.
