Fuji bikes?
 

I was at some bike shop weeks ago, and saw these really cheap road bikes. They were Fuji I thought they were the cheapest bike I had ever seen, some of them didnt even have presta valve tubes. :D

The valves on my Fuji's rims are just like the ones on beach balls. It takes a lot of huffing and puffing to inflate those tires to 110 psi.

A lot of people like cheap. Fuji is a second tier name
brand bike associated with quality construction. They
tend to be lower priced for the same parts set than brands of
comparable quality. As their
web site indicates they are like Trek, Cannondale and
Giant: they have a full line of bikes from the low hundred
range into full bore high enders $3k and up in multiple frame styles.

Boy are you guys misguided.I think you had better recheck fuji's website.You did go there right?Most brands have cheaper to high end bikes.My fuji is in the middle,853 frame,all ultegra with a ritchey crank,carbon fork,nothing wrong with that.

Fuji is one of the few companies that offer all levels of cycles. They offer the kind of bike you buy for a 10 year old, who rides around the neighborhood, and leave it out in the rain. They also offer the pro-team kind of bike that a hard core rider can ride for the rest of his life. At least their least expensive bike isnt $1500.00. Not everyone is looking for that in a bike. Had I not found my Vigorelli, I was going to buy either a Trek or a Fuji.

And its a great bike too!


But yes they have some INEXPENSIVE bikes, as does Trek and Cannondale. ;)

I enjoy my Fuji Roubaix Pro (105 equipped) and thought it was a great value.

My steel Finest, albeit sora equipped, is serving me quite well.

Some might say having a Specialized is being a poser. Your point?

I got my FUJI ACE 2003 for less than $500 USD,
featuring steel (comfortable) frame, cromoly
fork, SORA brakes and gears ...

This one literally "floats" on air, when cycling on it..

I am also weighing whether I should also
pick up the new FUJI ACE 2004 model, as the frame
is upgrading to aluminum ... just to have a
spare, aluminum bike waiting for me, on the side.

I would never consider TREK, or similar, as they're 30% to
40% more expensive, and you basically get the same thing,
as what FUJI is selling for less.

Mind you, if I were a billionaire like Bill Gates, I would
not have to buy a $500 or $1,000 bike ... I'd probably
try higher-end bikes, with lighter, Titanium alloy components,
like the Lite Speed, etc, that sell for $4,000 or $10,000 per unit.

Here's to Fuji! When I talk to non-cycling friends, and the subject comes around to the cost of a new bike, the most common reaction is a gasp of shocked disbelief. Fuji is one of the brands I can point to that offers high-quality bikes to the budget minded among us.

Fujis IMHO are bikes at a good value. My shop stocks them, and the ones I have built, like the Team issue seem pretty durable and light considering the price. I think if your on a budget, you should consider them, but if you have much moolah to spend (>3000), start looking at Ti bikes such as Litespeed.

I bought a fuji finest al roadbike last feburary. I have put over 3000 miles on it since. I am new at road biking and am now looking to upgrade. For the money,(450 new) I don't think they can be beat. If you are a beginning rider, I think it is wise to get something to learn on without breaking the bank. Now that I have got the hang of this road riding thing (and not falling off of the rollers or falling over trying to unclip at stoplights) I will probably look for something lighter that I can race on. People might try and talk the quality down, but my beginner fuji has been used hard and I have not had any mechanical problems with it and it has held up well. I would not be against trying out one of their higher end models such as the superlight or the team issue if I wasn't loyal to my local bike shop/bike guru.
Just my two cents worth.

My first real bike was a Fuji Espree (Years ago). Fuji makes good bikes and their prices allow a person on a more limited budget to get a competetive bike. Whenever anyone new to the sport asks me about a bike that would be good for a beginner that won't bankrupt them I Fuji is among the brands I recommend. And yes, I know they have expensive ones too, but their mid range bikes are great values.

Even if some are being recalled, so what? Every car maker has recalls, even top notch brands like Porsche. Doesn't mean that they build crap, only that they make mistakes, just like everyone else, and that they are owning up to them and fixing them. My first road bike was a 1988 Fuji ACE, full Suntour, all (and I do mean all) Jet Black. I sold it to a friend who is a bike messenger when I bought my Bianchi in 96, and as far as I know, he is still riding it.

Specialized not fuji being recalled.

Again, so what?

My local Performance shop had this bike (2003) for $699.

Good price for this bike? I'm looking for a new bike and this is in my range. Had a real old Fuji and it was fine. I realize this is not top-o-line, but is it OK for the price.

Full 105 Group, Ritchey Wheels, Carbon Fork.

Are you sure?I have a 2003 Fuji Marseille.Got it for $1099 which was a good price.All ultegra with a ritchey crank.700 bucks with 105 isnt bad but not sure why it has 105.
