TRULY better? Top-end Campy or top-end Shimano?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am, of course, completely kidding.

If you've come this far, turn around. I already know which is better, and so do the rest of us.

The one that feels better in your hands... for me that's Campy.

The answer is simple, there is no comparison between the two.

It really is apples to oranges.

I'm a Campy guy. Always have been, because of my preferance to the shifters, and repairability. Shimano has its benny's too. It's all about what you want/need in a group for your mindset. Even SRAM has its worthy line of bits, of which are some of the lightest on the market.

It's a redundant argument that will never go away.

It has become comical more than anything else.

This whole thread was intended to be a mere joke, actually. So I win!

No, I won earlier by giving a definitive answer that said nothing at all. Surferbruce finished second by agreeing with me and by planning to go to France for a year.

You took the bronze medal.

Your joke lacked any semblence of humor or originality. So I'd say you lose.

Just based on observation, I'd say you're a humorless prick.

But what do I know? You could be the nicest guy in the world.

Campy vs. Shimano comparisons were played out a very very long time ago. Post less, read more and learn. If that was your idea of a joke, I'd say there's at least one humorless prick in this thread, and it certainly isn't me.

Your grammar is simply atrocious. It maTches your sense of humor perfectly!

I have some*Your*Mom*Is*So jokes if the super-played-out Campy vs. Shimano jokes are rubbing you the wrong way. But be careful; I have some "new" ones that are going to hurt your feelings even *worse*, Shprocketze Mengele.

The only irony here is a HumorNazi turned TypoNazi. Which reminds me....

Exactly what "TypoNazi" do you want to be? Har har har.

I do apologize. My typing might be atrocious, but your obsession over all the best details is probably the funniest thing of all. So kudos to you. Let's call it a truce: I won't make any more jokes for you to ***** about, ok?
