Wish there was another frame group buy

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In light of my wanting to buy a new bike or frameset, I'd be interested. What frame were you thinking about?

Before you ask, Pedal Force has already been bugged and said there "will not be another group buy this year."

Not going to happen. Cervelo has a strong allegiance to IBD, you can't even warranty their frames unless you bough it from an authorized dealer. However, phallenthoul can get you a carbon frame*.

Has anyone taken the lead on this? I'm guessing no. Do you guys think there's enough demand for at least 20-30 framesets?

If someone can get a group buy for a good but relatively inexpensive TT frame, I'd be interested but I don't think there would be enough interest. Maybe if you approach Tri guys too?

How many people out there are interested in a carbon frame? If 20-30 people were interested I'm sure something could be sourced.

Show of hands?

I would possibly be in for a TT frame. Or even a cyclocross frame.

Depending on price, I could see myself buying a carbon frame.

I'd go for a carbon frame, but the question is who? BD if pedal force is out?
Or Patrick if we could agree on a frame?

Count me in. Prefer semi-compact geometry.

FWIW, there's too much variance in what people want. From this post so far, it seems people are looking for cyclocross, tt, steel, and carbon frame. Unless the group buy of 30 people can get whatever they want, it's probably not going to happen because not everyone is wanting a carbon frame.

I'd be interested in:

Caad 9 or similar crit-worthy cheap frame.

A cheaper TT frame....

Patrick is in the process of offering his own frames. Please do not mention specific brands, since he is not in any way affiliated with the one previously named. It only causes confusion and issues with the brand owners.
