Hammer Bib Sizing (coming from Performance Elite Bib)
I think I'm going to pick up a pair of Hammer Bibs from Hammer Nutrition. I wear a Performance Elite Bib size XL, but I don't know how the Hammer Bibs size up. I have a 34-35 inch waist with some big quadriceps. That should have been a size large for the Performance Elite Bibs, but the legs weren't big enough.

I am 5'10" 182...34 waist...Large is perfect size for me with this brand

5'11"...190 34(ish) waist....I wear large and think they fit great.
6'... 203lbs... 37" waist... Size XL
The Hammer shorts are made by Voler. Here's a link to Voler's sizing chart.
Also, if you're placing an order with Hammer for the first time, feel free to send me a PM if you'd like a discount code. :) |
I wear an XL in both, the performance are tighter by a touch.
I have large Voler bibs, and they are on the small side. I just ordered XL bibs from Hammer. I'm 6', 205lbs with 34" waist.
ok, now i can't decide between L and XL
they say to size up if between. i plan to order some soon myself. if you are a first time buyer and want 15% off then PM me you email and i will have Hammer email you a 15% discount. later.
I am 6'1", 190 lbs 34 " waist and I just got a pair of large Hammer bibs and they fit perfect. The free hammer nutrition samples worked well also.
If you can wait until Monday, I'll let you know how the XLs fit.
I'm 5'11" 160 and just got a pair of of mediums and compared to my Perf Elite mediums they fit a little looser but okay.....I'll know more after my first ride in them.
I'm 5' 10", 165, 32-34 and the medium straps are just a tad short for me. I can wear them without problems, but I'm left with marks on my shoulders after rides. I'll probably order large next time.
well, L is backordered so maybe that'll help make the decision for you. I went to purchase the L (I'm 5'10" about 200 lbs with a 33in. waist and rather "thick" legs) and was denied! Actually, they said they'd take my money, but they couldn't ship shorts yet, so I just held off.
Love the Performance Elite shorts, though. What do people think about Performance Elites compared to the Hammer/Volers in terms of quality and comfort? |
6' 198# and I wear L from Hammer, they fit great.
If you're taller than 6'2 you need the XL, the straps will be too small on the large
I got the XL bibs yesterday. Fit is good, but the legs are a bit loose at the knee while standing. Not a problem while riding. So, I would say they are a little long in the leg for me, but I prefer the fit to the Voler Elite bibs in large.
I'm 6'2", 195# and the large fit me great.
so who wants to send me their referral # first? =)

 Pick me for a discount code...pick me!
Hammer bibs = Voler. I started getting them when I was the following dimensions: 5'8" 190-ish. 35" waist. Short legs long torso. I ordered "L". I thought they were "OK". I switched to "M" on my next order....perfect!. I am now 5'8" 175 34-waist If you have short legs then err on the smaller size if between two. If you tend to have long legs for your height then err to the larger size if in between two. In my experience the Voler bibs tend to have inseams that are longer than Performance ones. Also I wear Size "L" in Performance Ultra bibs from last year or the year before. This years Ultra bibs are bigger fitting -more like they were a few years back. In those I would be a "M". Assos I am a slightly too big "L. I could probably now wear a better fitting "M". |
ahhhh!!...."missed it by that much"!!(said with my Get Smart impression....which be glad you didn't hear!!) :)
i just spent my referral point/credits like 10 seconds ago. so pick me!! :) later.

I ended up getting the L from Voler. It's a bit long, but everything else fits fine (5'8", 200#, 34-35 in waist, large quads). I probably could go with the M, but legs might split open.
