Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Apparently he had one like it as a kid, I couldn't turn it down for $10 after he mentioned he wanted to go riding with me

For those of you that are wondering, it rides like a Cadillac (and handles like one).

You're not supposed to, it has extra levers for the flat parts of the bar. Unfortunately they flex a lot and are just about useless

haha yeah I cut those off my steelie Schwinn with a Dremel... those inefficient little things are dangerous.

EDIT: I unscrewed them and cut the sleeve, that receives the bolt, flush with the hoods. Just in case anyone wanted to know the procedure. The sleeve is held in place by a screw and doesn't need the suicide levers on it to be kept in place. Totally safe to remove them.

Aptly named. I might take them off so my dad doesn't attempt to use them.

I was thinking about stenciling / spray painting "ANCHOR" on it since whoever had it before me painted over the schwinn logo.
