Congratulations Chad! My first (and still only) road bike is Cannondale CAAD8 I got in 2005. LOVE it - and I'm sure you will love yours too. May the two of you enjoy many many rides together!

Congrats! Did you get it for a good price?

sigh...thats what I was trying to avoid, tried to get my LBS to get it from them but that was a no go.

gas will be cheaper than the 20% price increase on the 09' bikes.

its either get this one or wait a few months and pay more.

I'll make the drive.

Nice!

I'm planning on getting my first REAL road bike soon. This machine is one of my top picks on my list.

mine too, I test road a few bikes, a Scott S30, caad8 w/ veloce, the caad9, and a specialized allez elite.

the specialized didn't get a fair judgment as it was a size small in 58cm. and felt way to cramped. it was definitely smooth riding though.

the caad bikes aren't "harsh" per say but you can feel the road...just like a good race car IMO. it wasn't to bad to this newbie...but I've yet to ride a full carbon bike...and don't plan to for quite a while.;)

the S30 was also a very nice bike.

I'll update when I get to ride it.
