Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FSC road frame preliminary review(picure heavy)

Finally yesterday i got a very light decently packed box via UPS inside was the supplemental FSC frame. It did not come with barrel adjusters for the down tube or a seat tube clamp but never claimed to so i cant really be upset about that, although i have never had to find barrel adjusters and hoping it wont be a pain. There are a few blemishes on the frame as below

The paint is ok, not bad but not great and the welds that are visible around the bottom bracket seem to be uniform looking

Im not entirely sure how i feel about the rear triangle the first ride will be the judge of that.

All and all its either a very light feeling frame or a cheap feeling one i cant exactly decide, within the next few weeks it will be built up with campy veloce group set, Khamsin wheels, and deda magic bar and stem.

I just wish they'd go back to selling the 736R instead of the frame that replaced it. Death to horizontal drop outs.

Was the frame stuffed with cocaine and confiscated by the DEA or something?

Well, given the harassing attitude Leader seems to take towards customers, and now imposing gag orders on them, it doesn't seem to come too recommended. I was going to pick up a frame from them, but now I am not going to.

Leader and FSC are NOT the same.

I would NOT recommend the FSC frame, however i would recommend Leaders customer service and their bikes.

There was no sort of gag order imposed on me, there was a general miscommunication and not all persons involved were not on the same pages. Once it was all sorted out and everyone was on the same page things were resolved in a dignified manner. Leader bikes is a small company and they heavily depend on their customer service reputation to grow which is why they heavily defend it. I dont deny there was a bit of a disgruntled attitude at my first encounter, but since the resolution of it all i will be a repeat customer of leader bikes.

why would you NOT recommend the frame?

was it customer service? the actual product? wrong size? double charging your account?

So you got the FSC but you dont recommend it. You had to send the Leader back for undisclosed reasons but you're recommending them.

This whole thread makes no sense whatsoever.

Yep, thats about right. I spoke directly to the owner over the phone and we got to the bottom of things and he made no threats or excuses and just wanted to know what he could do to make things right.

The FSC is not a leader frame, unfortunately for those following the thread the how what when and why shall go unmentioned and remain between those directly involved. I apologize for that.

So...ummm...this thread is not actually about communicating your experiences with the FSC frame to other cyclists.

OK then.
