January 2006 - 175-176 pounds
October 2008 - 132-133 pounds.
Every time I visit my friend in NorCal he worries about me because I am "too skinny". heh.

Before = 250lbs
Very unfit, no excercise, lots of booze.

I never thought, 18 months later I'd be posing for this shot! (I had actually put about 15 pounds on due to a 3 month lay off caused by deep vein thrombosis when this shot was taken...) 205lbs now, hoping for 180 by next summer...

Before I decided to take riding a notch up in May of 2007. I weighed 232 on a cruise in April of 2007.

This picture was taken in June of 2008. I weighed 188 at that time. My current weight is 190.

Been riding for close to 20 years. In that time I went from 165 to 228 back to 179. I carry more weight better than most. Most never guess my weight correctly.
I will be 165 again. Doing it the slow way. Couldn't get any lower without changing diet seriously. Still not a perfect diet, but tons better. I just don't beat myself up for "cheating".
Once I hit 165 I am sure I will want to hit 160 or 155. It never ends.
One thing is for sure. If I hit my weight goals without losing power I will be kick-ass.

I finally hit my weight goal a few weeks ago. It only took 4 years or so.
I am 5'9"
Start weight: 210lbs
Current weight: 150lbs
I still think I can loose a few but I am happy with it. When I finish healing in January I should be able to start strength training. yee haw!

I don't have any photos except a few that I wouldn't really want to post on the net...
I'm about 6' tall when not slouching.
In 2004 I went from 245 lbs down to 205 by riding a cheap $400 XC mountain bike around the city and some light XC on trails... Then in early 2005 I bought a pretty decent aluminum framed road bike with 9-speed 105 (Allez Elite) and got seriously into it, more than 12,000 km done in 2005. I dropped from 205 lbs down to 172 and rode >40km a day, 7 days a week.
There were a few hills that previously kicked my ass... I was so happy to realize that I was going up these previously "impossible" hills completely out of the saddle in 52x19 and not blowing up. In just under 18 months I went from a shapeless sack of lard to a guy that could do a metric century without getting off the bike at an average speed of 33-34 km/h. GO CYCLING!
I'm usually the guy holding the camera so there's few photos of me, but here's some of the bike I built up in late 2006 as an upgrade from a heavy aluminum and 9-speed 105 setup:

Reading this thread is really motivational! Thanks for sharing.
My weight has been up and down over the last two years... had a decent year last year and went down to 142lbs. and lowest this year was 152lbs. but after a crappy late summer/fall and not training the last two months (last ride was up Mt. Ventoux though...) I'm now tipping the scale at 164lbs. At 5'8" and skinny build, that is way too much and either the pants are shrinking in the closet, or my stomach is getting bigger.... Time to face the fact... training MUST start today!

Thanks everyone for posting. This thread is a real encouragement. You don't hear success stories like these among people who crash diet / starve themselves. Cycling (and exercise in general) is where it's at! How else could you lose 20, 50, 100 lbs almost as a side-effect of doing something so addictive and fun? It beats going to the gym too. No monthly membership fee (unless you count buying bike toys and clothes)
That's not true. You don't hear success stories from lazy people with no discipline.

Holy Sh*t. Look at Chris Hoys legs. That guy is a monster, He passed me once on my training route on an incline, passed me like he was motoring downhill. I know of another guy who told me that whilst out on a wellknown training circuit route in edinburgh (about 4km long) Hoy passed him at the start of the lap and then passed him again before he'd finished his first circuit...scary. The mans a hero though, 3 gold medals in Beijing, The King of Scotland.

Hi all. I went from being 5' 8" and weighing 214lbs this February to 173 lbs this morning. A combination of riding 3 to 4 times a week and a massive change in my diet to a low carb approach. I highly recommend the info available on www.paleodiet.com

Oct 31 2008 - 228lbs and 115/75

Went from 220 lbs about a year ago to 185 lbs currently. I'm 6'3", and I think 180 lbs is probably a good target for me. I've got a bit of flab around the waste to lose still, but will hopefully add a bit of muscle, as well.

Last time I posted here I was down to 175 from 205 and wanting to lose 20 more. Well, I lost 30 more. I'm now at 145, 29 inch waist again. That's 60 pounds!
