Since the end of April, I've gone from 205 to 179 (yesterday morning). Wouldn't mind dropping another 20.

Flabby unfit 175 lbs to 140 (race weight +/- a couple lbs) in three years. 175 to 150 was easy. Getting fit again was the hard part.

Now about that 5 gram difference in stems...

Because of cycling, I learned the joys of carbon fiber.
I've replaced my femurs with carbon fiber and plan to get a carbon fiber ribcage soon.

Awesome jobs Ehilde, Patriot and Canondaler. Youse guys are examples to me now. My goal is 175 by the end of the year.
This year i have gone from 235 in Feb to 199 right now. Sorry no pics! Yet.
I had been as high as 265 in spring 2005. Then I went down to 200 by 0ct 2005 then I shot back up to 220 by Jan 2006 and worked it back down to 200 in June 2006. I crashed badly that month, then gained 20lbs and took 10 back off by Oct 2006. I Sat around all winter in 2006 and gained back up to to 255 lbs by March 2007 only to train it all back down to 205 in Sept 2007. Then I sat around all winter again and gained back up to 235 lbs by mid Feb 2008 and then started working out on a new set of rollers and I am now down to 199 lbs. I havnt been under 200 lbs since 2000, my last full season of non-stop Feb to Sept. racing. I was weighing in around 185-190lbs then.
People tell me i look aneroxic now. But im far from it, but realitive to how big I was, I guess they have a point. Im still 24 lbs heavier than I want to be.
Im pretty much following suit like all the other big 'losers'. Eat what I want, just less of it and ride. Lots!

Three years ago I was just over 300. I'm down to 234 now, so that is over 70 pounds and I'm 6'3". It is all from cycling and some small dietary changes, mainly just eating less. And there is still plenty more than can come off. I'm in my forties, a little over twenty years ago I was in the Army. I came out of basic training at 200 punds, maybe upper 190's. The weight came back on quickly, but if I could back down to that weight it will be quite remarkable.

Good jobs guys!!
I must admit I didn't lose all my weight cycling, but started with simply getting off the couch and walking. I started with 30 minutes a day, every day. Did this for about 18 months and lost close to 25lbs. I also altered my diet and stopped eating the fatty and unhealthy stuff. After that I just kept doing more and more and eventually found cycling, first it was mountain biking and now road cycling...
Before (getting close to 190lbs)
After (in the 140lbs range)
This weight loss happened close to 7-8 years ago. At the time my family and friend were all worried about me, thinking I was sick. There was a rumour that I had cancer or AIDS. Now people forget that I was big and new acquaintances can't believe I use to be big.
I've stopped weighing myself and just focus on riding and as eating healthy as I can.

The tracker:
2005 - 17 yrs old, 185 lbs (give or take)
2006 - 18 yrs old, about 190 lbs (I lost the 185, but gained it back from the infamous Freshman 15)
2007 - 19 yrs old, about 180 lbs
2008 - 20 yrs old, 155 lbs
I don't have any GOOD pre-cyclist pics, though I may have some on film negatives.
2007:
At first, LOTS of people thought I was sick or was becoming anorexic. Nowadays, with the exception of my Mom (DID YOU EAT? DID YOU EAT?!?!?!), no-one really bugs me about it. In fact, one of my friends who just recently got to know me much better couldn't even believe that I was overweight. When I told him I was 11 yrs old at 145 lbs, he was completely shocked.
So it goes.

I have been all over the map. In 2004 when I started riding again I was 255 lbs and with riding and running quickly got down to 220 lbs and sort of settled between 215 and 220 since then. Well this year I decided to get my act together...I was 230 lbs at the end of winter and am now 205 lbs on my way down to a target of 180-185.
Sorry no current photos I am to busy riding.
Here I am at the 2006 Livestrong ride where I was about 215 lbs I believe...so this minus 10 lbs. I just recently started buying a size smaller bibs and jerseys...feels great.

Thanks everyone for posting. This thread is a real encouragement. You don't hear success stories like these among people who crash diet / starve themselves. Cycling (and exercise in general) is where it's at! How else could you lose 20, 50, 100 lbs almost as a side-effect of doing something so addictive and fun? It beats going to the gym too. No monthly membership fee (unless you count buying bike toys and clothes)
