New Saddle. Should I switch to white tape?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Saddle. Should I switch to white tape?

Thought I'd give the San Marco Contour a try. I have the feeling its the kind of look that people will either love or hate. I like it. The reviews are good and they've been around forever so I figure they can't be too bad. My fizik is killing these days for some reason. Anyway, white tape needed or can I get away with the black for awhile. I just put it on.

YES!!!!!!!! White saddle is the curb feelers of the cycling world. White tape is the fuzzy dice. Let's just say my bike would be comparable to a 64 impala with 100 spoke gold daytons on hydraulics.

A white saddle demands white tape.

White tape doesn't demand a white saddle.

And holy mother of seat branding.

Hey, don't ask the question if you know you aren't going to like the answer. In this case I think you knew what you had to do you just wanted us to confirm it.

Neon green. Be crazy.

It'll distract all the other riders during crits. Anything you can do to break their concentration is an advantage for you.

In all seriousness though, white is the shiznit.

I agree. I changed the tape and saddle last week. Still not 100% sure about the saddle color.

what fizik did you have that randomly started to hurt? AND YES white tape. I'm trying to find an inexpensive white toupe to trade out my black Avatar for so it matches my white tape! If anybody has one let me know!

You want someone to hold your hand while you go to the bike shop for the white tape?

I'm sure your next thread will be asking "How do a clean my white bar tape?"

White tape.

While you're at it, replace the hoods to match too.

Yes. I had the same model in red but my decorator (wife) said it didn't match and was dirty. Black was all they had at the store.

When riding, the color of the saddle makes very little effect. Whereas the bar tape does. Its only when you take a break and park in front of the coffee shop that eveyone gets to see the bike.

White bar tape demands good cleaning habits. First thing is to keep the gloves clean. Soak them often in detergent and sun dry.
