Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For the sport...

Well, a week ago today, last friday, I crashed after a stop light turned green and I began sprinting my home. My foot slipped out of the stirrup and brought me down on my left. My ankle, knee, and elbow were scraped pretty good, but a little hydrogen peroxide fixed me up: or so I thought. A week later, I've got this. And there's nothing I can about it. Just wait. Can't ride, can't run, swim, walk; exercise at all. It's upsetting. I exercise in my free time, which is nearly all the time, and now I have to stop. I love cycling, in fact I love all the exercises I do day in and day out, and they could be done for quite some time. I don't know how long this will take to heal, and clearly the worst case scenario is amputation. I'm frustrated, scared, and bothered right now, hence all this venting. Picture...
EDIT: yes, I've been to the doctor, lol

Sure looks like you have an infectin going on there. I'd get to a doctor before it gets serious, or the amputation joke could get real. If you see any red streaks, get to the hospital IMMEDIATELY>

I had something similar happen to me about 4 years ago... on my elbow. I got an infection that spread down my forearm and I had to undergo several weeks of intense antibiotic therapy with Keflex and a few others. I could have lost my arm had the bone become infected.

You need to pursue rigorous treatment of this NOW. Yours looks far more advanced than mine did. I am not a Dr. , but to me it looks like you waited too long for a pill to do any good.
