Speedplay Zero question

Hey,
This may be a dumb question, but I've never bought new pedals before. I was looking at Speedplay's website and it seems like I'll need a base plate and Snap Shim sets to make the cleats work with my 3 hole shoes. The cleats and all appropriate mounting hardware are included, correct? Sorry if it's a dumb question haha. Also, I got a pair of shoes second hand from my team (my first race is in a week, I'm so nervous) and they are Diadora's. The heel says "Ergo Pro" but it also says "Power Drive" on the sole of the shoe. Are these Diadora Ergo Pro shoes or Diadora Power Drive? The Speedplay site says "All Diadora Road Shoes Except Alu, Powerdrive, & Multiped Models '07 and earlier." on the compatibility list, but then goes on to give instructions on what shims to use to make Power Drive shoes work. These are compatible, right? Sorry for bombarding you with questions. Any answers that you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

George

In answer to your first question, yes all the hardware is included with the pedals. Get the appropriate cleat cleat covers for them also. I dont know the answer to your second question though. If no one can answer it call speedplay and ask them. I did that for a pair of Shimano shoes I use and they were able to answer my question. Hope this helps.

For the second question, I would use whatever shims it says to use for Powerdrive since that sounds like the key exception (for example, Speedplay had an exception for carbon soled Sidi G2 and G3, despite having a previous instruction for regular Genius shoes).

When installing them, check to make sure the adapter plate is perfectly flat before installing the cleat onto it. If not, try the other shims.

Thanks alot, guys. My mom wanted to get me a nicer set of pedals for my birthday that offered a full range of float to help with my knee problems. I didn't want her to spend that amount of money and find it it doesn't work. I'll call Speedplay tomorrow to verify everything.

You'll be fine. The only difference between the "all models ..." diadora & the "powerdrive", is that in addition to the 1F/1R snap shims, the powerdrive model also requires the Extra Shim under the front cleat screw of each base plate. These extra shims come with the pedals.
