So close to HOT! I love that color, I almost bought that frame in this color, it looks so sweet! Hard to make those hydro levers look hot, they are so big. Lose the light and the bidon and this is right there. I like the color accent on the wheels, not overdone.

Really though, that is one of the better looking bikes I have seen in a while, love that color!

Cutting off excess steerer when I have the time.

This is a big hot in my book

Kind of cool looking. I do find those hydraulic brake shifter levers to be ugly however. The rest of the bike looks good.

The front end of that bike is all wrong. Too much steering tube and the bars are rotated up and the whole thing looks un balanced. I also don't like that seat post, a Specialized branded item. I also would agree with one of the other comments that perhaps this frame is incorrect for the rider with so much seat post and stem height showing.

Very nice.

What kind of rear tail light is that? Looks very clean how it's hugged to the seat post.

I appreciate the comments. The frame size was a tough decision for me. I'm somewhere between a 56 or a 58 at 6 ft tall. Coming off a more upright riding Sirrus fitness hybrid bike I wanted a similar riding position with the ability ride on the drops as well, so I chose the 56. As it is, I find it a bit too upright for my tastes.

The frame design is a bit gimmicky for sure. The high seat post, oversize upper seat post tube, and low seat post clamp provide compliance. The same with the high stem height, the future shock set-up requires a much higher profile for operation. The bars even have a rise to them to increase the more upright riding position. Endurance design rather than a traditional racy design.

Future upgrades will include a standard style seat post (I hate the turkey neck), and a more neutral stem with no rise bars.

As I have said before, it does have an odd look to it. It is comfortable but it surely isn't a traditional hot road bike.

Back to riding a semi-modern bike. I know that it’s not Hot, but I’m posting it here so that I can take my beating like a man.

Nothing like having to eat your own words, not to mention the embarrassment of quoting myself. Some digging around showed there is around 30mm of adjustment in stem height. 3 - 5mm spacers, and a 15mm spaced cap. Included with the bike is a 0mm cap. So I removed the 3 spacers and it looks much better. Will keep dropping it incrementally until I find the right balance of height and comfort.

Thanks for the insight, and pointing out my laziness of actually figuring it all out.

Sir, you are far too accepting of critique, for this thread.

Maybe you are new here, but typically newbs post a photo of the bike they just purchased, and then get butthurt when others don’t congratulate them on their purchase.

:foo: I’m not sure if you’ll fit in here.

Needs toe clip pedals.

Why? I prefer some functionality when it comes to not having to think which shoes with which cleats go with which bike :)

Because it would be "Hot" with toe clips. The bike is "some what" retro, or am I missing the scheme of the ride? :foo:

HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME LIKE THIS?

Better?

I posted my pic to create some discussion, and maybe learn a little something along the way too. I appreciate all the comments.

Thanks. It's a Serfas Thunderbolt. Been good to me. It's pretty bright and has held up great in bad conditions. Easy on/off and USB chargeable so it works for me.

Thanks. I knew I should have removed the bottle and the light but posted anyway. I think the levers would look better if I weren't so damn short. On a 48 frame everything looks big. I'd love to rotate them down a little and "slam" the stem but it fits me like it is pretty well so I haven't changed it... yet.

It should have Look or Time (ie french) clipless pedals at the very least! :D

Yup, and I would have to drop the 10sp wheels with Ambrosio (Novatec) hubs and Campagnolo cassette, the 10sp chain plus the Dia-Compe brakelevers. Not to mention the nos Selle Italia Turbo saddle. Heck, even the tubular tires will have to go because Dugast is made in The Netherlands these days. But I don't mind scoring a "not" with my everyday bike ;)

Altamira 1.0
Recently built, fits perfect vs. previous frame that was a tad too long.

it would maybe be hot if it wasn't so washed out with fake DOF that missed one too many spots
