Hot r Not

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Whilst I can appreciate a good classic shaped frame I’m not a fan of the older frames so sadly the Spectrum doesn’t do it for me so it’s a Not and the Serotta is borderline as I prefer a more aggressive, straight bladed fork, so still not hot hot. Quite like the spesh- although I’m not sure I’d have the balls to carry that off.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think we should judge classic bikes as “Hot or Not” based on modern standards. The Serotta is a hot classic style bike(although some might question the colors). A straight fork would look strange on that bike.

it was set on a repair stand. I just didnt want to have the stand detract from the bike.

Had the opposite effect than intended. Now I understand why it looks like it is floating above the ground.

well that hasn’t stopped numerous modem manufacturers specking straight bladed forks on classical geometry frames- any number of them look hot

Nope, that’s a hot bike. Well I think the frame pump by the rules disqualifies it as hot. But still hot ‘in my world’.

That Kvale is hot.

I'm not a vintage guy but even the setting and photography are perfect.

Level saddle, top tube and stem are very calming yet aggressive. No bottle cages to complicate the photo is a super nice touch.

The moisture on the trail after a rain... I want to ride down the trail to see what's over the rise in the distance.

Well done. Very well done.

For as great as the spec list is, the De Rosa just doesn't appeal to me. I'm not a fan of the webbing between the ST and seat stays and, maybe it's a function of the frame size, but the front end doesn't look aggressive - HT angle, rake, I dunno what it is, but something. Loud wheelset graphics don't do it for me, either.

What is the reason you didn't go with a Campy eps group to match the wheels?
