Surprisingly, the ride was the complete opposite even with the heavy H+S Archetype wheelset. The more I ride this, the more I feel it really is the best of both worlds when compared to the last two previous builds. Handles great, rides comfortably smooth for a frameset with its shortened chainstays but push up the cadence, responsive yet stable and again, comfortable.

It's beautiful but I miss your color palette from your other bikes (at least they found good homes if I remember right). Love the bar tape and matching bits (ode to the DeRosa?)

If you staged it better, polished it up, even out some of the gaps while fixing some of the dents it would be one of the coolest bikes posted here

It was hot until I saw the pink. So, no.

Yeah, who do you think you are, Mario Cipollini? I mean, how un-hot is that!

Am I missing something, because I believe the cable runs internally through the top tube.

Oh good another all black carbon bike. Haven’t seen one of those in a while I wonder what great country that frame was produce in?

I'd guess he doesn't have a speed sensor on the front fork either, but that part is speculation....

Yes, I guess the entire Cannondale team has green accents on the Sram Red. Still pretty cool.

Germany. They're made in Germany.

At one time they were, but not anymore.

" Storck bikes are designed in Idstein but made in China. He would prefer to have production in Germany but economies of scale make it impossible, though he’s currently working with the German government on a process that could make it financially viable."

Damn cheap Chinese carbon!

Excuse me while I order another set of carbon clinchers off of Amazon. They're only $300.00!

Thanks. I miss the one of a kind look from the previous builds as well. Not an ode to the De Rosa but when I got the Storck, I already knew it would need some bits of color. I've never had or built up an all black frameset and since the Giro is my favorite tour of the big 3, the pink pieces are more of an ode to the La Maglia Rosa.

Been a while since I posted updates on this thread. New saddle (again), Specialized Toupe Pro seems to be working well for me. New wheels sans red hubs! Sorry for the staging of the cranks and valve stems I was just goofing around after a wash and mounting the wheels and wasn't thinking of Hot r Not at the time!

Is that a LightBicycle wheelset? Let us know how you like them when you've gotten in some good mileage.

You used to have that weird, inverse-cutout saddle, right? That thing was ugly. The Toupe looks much better.

I see that bike all the time. Used to think it was pretty cool, now I'm thinking: ho hum... ;)

Yup, they are the LightBicycle wheels. I have a separate thread that so far only has the boxing and pics from above, will do ongoing reviews.

I did and still do have the Infinity seat, still the most comfortable seat from a sit bone standpoint but the width was driving me batty hence going back on the search. The Toupe is where I've ended up and I think it's right for me. I had tried a couple of Fabric models, my old Bontrager Affinity, and a Pro Stealth (similar to the Specialized Power).

Lol I hear you, I do enjoy posting pics of this thing, but I still like to ride it more! At some point I'm sure the novelty will wear off! But wait, didn't you call it "Homely, like a Bentley" at some point?
