White is the new black.
And seriously, thanks for your previous comments about Ultegra on a Bianchi. I am really happy that I went with Campy - looks better and works better. La dolce vitta!
New wheels will probably be Ambrosio Excellence rims, Sapim spokes and maybe Record hubs with ceramic bearings. But I have not decided on the hubs yet. The Record hubs on my Bottecchia are still buttery smooth, 23 years later! Hoping that the new Record hubs are as durable.

I think people gave you a little grief because it was an off the rack bike and looked a little generic. The upgrades look nice and definitely give it more appeal. I actually prefer Shimano to Campy though because the parts are more readily available and cheaper locally if you need something in a hurry. I ran Campy a while back and got frustrated by that several times.
I have Campy on my 23 year old Bottecchia and I really like their components. But the problem that you mentioned is a big issue for many.
Thanks for your comments!

Nonetheless, the Record hubs are still really nice.

You are correct. Campy recomends a long rear housing. They state not to cut the precut rear housing.
I'm also a HUGE deda fan. They have the best service ever. They sent me new hardware and a wedge for a quill stem. I told them I bought it used off ebay and they still sent it all free of charge.
The new record hubs are not as pretty as the hubs of old but they sure are smooth. I use a record front hub on my single speed cross bike. I would love an ambrosio/spaim/record wheelset to swap between my road bikes.

I remember on Velo News they were noting the long rear cable housing lengths on a lot of the pro bikes. The mechanics claim it is smoother.

also: red/black/white pinarello on previous page is definitely hot. so is the wilier above. fuji is too in a functional kind of way. blue/black/white FP6 at the top of this page just doesn't do it for me for some reason.

Here she is after putting the new wheels and tires on. I have the GP4000s in all black so I might change them soon

UCIMBZ: Awesome frame man. That is really the same bike? Incredible half/half paint job, looks tremendous, from either profile.
