Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Understood - but this is the hot or not thread. What you can or can't afford doesn't matter. Proper fit doesn't matter. A classic Colnago without Campy isn't as hot as one with IMO.

Started at 18.5lb, now around 17.4lb. New Wheelset should bring the complete bike with cages and computer to the 16 range. Thoughts?......

What makes this bike hot is the details. Love the crank and the saddle especially. Tires are a nice tie in too.

Thank you! I wanted to include the subtle accents of red without going too overboard. Hopefully I succeeded. Most importantly though, the bike is a fantastic ride and I love putting miles on it.

Functionally its awesome, but aesthetically could use some work. The F99 stem is awesome, but the polished look doesn't go with the rest of the frame. Also, I'd use a different crank, not necessarily rival, to match, but something not from the big 3.

WooHoo!! Just got a set of Hollowgram SL/SI's for $300 in 9/10 shape with everything included.

I'll probably get them on tonight and post picts of my bike since a few things have changed.

The only slight problem is it is standard and I'd prefer compact. If anyone knows someone with a compact set and wants standard, let me know.

You can get a compact spider for hollow gram cranks as opposed to an entire crankset

Colnago Master, 1986.

Bits of C-Record, large slabs of 11-speed Chorus, a little Record and Neutron Wheels. Artfully blended together by il Professore (Zak). Paint by Star Enamellers, Sydney.

Scott CR1 Pro. Recently readjusted the seat angle and dropped the stem to the bottom. What a difference a small adjustment makes!
