Oh, Whoosh - it's a good thing that you only needed to follow orders as opposed to being smart enough to think for yourself. If the thread were titled, "Is your bike hotter than mine?", you might have a point. But it's not. And you don't.
I've posted my bike elsewhere, but not here - it's used for commuting and I don't have any pics without the saddlebag and lights. That, in addition to the steerer that I haven't gotten around to trimming and the fugly but oh-so-comfy saddle, is the main reason that I haven't posted here. Rest assured, though, that my attention to detail in all matters of product photography is more thorough than your little mind could imagine.

So, just curious....what defines "hot"? I mean is there such a thing as a hot touring bike with racks/panniers? A hot commuter bike with fenders?

There are plenty of hot touring and commuting rigs, especially NAHBS stuff.
But even pretty regular commuter rigs can be hot. I'm enamored with this Schwinn Cross Cut I found in an image search recently.

sure, but this is a specific thread in the Road Bike Section of the forum.
so what the thread entails is hot road bikes (in the realm of racing bikes).
as long as its a racing bike then it can be instantly considered and debated upon. hence the many "HOT" vintage road bikes in this thread as well as the "halo" bikes, and even budget racers.
there's a definite specific aesthetic that pleases [the ones in the thread] like:
- great photography (as per BF standards)
- racing asthetics (good saddle stem drop ratio is an example)
- slammed stems
- nice clean lines
- coodinated wheels+frame+accessories
i've seen plenty of drop dead gorgeous bikes in the "post your commuter bike pics" thread in the commuter bike section of BF. even more so with the bike porn in the C&V section with the touring bike restorations. there's going to be some crossover, but each does have its place and corresponding thread that it will be more appreciated in.

Regarding the surprising amount of commentary on my bike, thanks to those with kind words. I do ride the bike, a lot, and so its dirty,the tape could use replacing, and the stem is not slammed. Its my everyday bike and my race bike. Its not babied and so there are imperfections. I should change out the seat post for something that doesn't clash, but more importantly I'm waiting for something lighter and not crazy expensive to come along (same goes for the stem).
