Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

General consensus seems to be that if it doesn't have deep profile wheels, it is not hot.

For me, your bike is a couple spacers away (as in removing them) from being hot.

The barrier to greatness is rarely overcome. You have some obvious personal touches to the bike and we are not about personal insults here. My opinion of it runs along the lines that it isn't the best that bike could be. Sometimes that means taking some stickers off and in others it means a complete rebuild. To me one of the beautiful things about a steel bike is how adaptable the old style quill stems were to adjustment with a lessened degree of concern about extension above the headtube. I would take some convincing to find the marriage of a steel bike with carbon parts inviting enough to call it hot. Sorry, but there is a good chance it would be appreciated more in the post your road bike thread. BTW, I have two steel road bikes that have seen a lot of enjoyable usage on and off pavement and are assuredly in the not category. A few pages back there is a well conceived one that was right to be placed in this thread.

I would have openly laughed if he was rocking stripper shoes or a wing bar. I think you might agree that they have become so homogeneous they don't even matter as much as the sticker that may still be on them.

Hot, but I also have a soft spot for the Allez.

I would suggest changing the chainrings though....

The next thing on my list is the crankset, it's not even Apex, it's bottom of the barrel power spline.

The angled stonework in Pic1 makes the TT slope look odd and the saddle seem tilted too far forward. It does slope a bit, but here's another pic so you get a different view.
Beautiful bike!

Sorry to be "that guy" who re-posts, but can I get any recommendations for doing the Not -> Hot move?

Or does the "High Performance Carbon" = eternal Notness?

The red tires don't match it. The frame pump makes the bike look cluttered and very small. The seat post with the such a thick section near the top makes it look very short, even though its already not very extended. The huge bars don't look proportional to the bike. The angle of the picture isn't very good. It's a cool bike, but those are the things I feel detract it from being a hot bike.

here you go. I picked that up, but liked the lighting in the original better. I am not painting that garage door, it's crap and needs to be replaced.

It's the brand of the frame and is based on how they do pre orders for framesets and what not in November.

I wanted a carbon clincher that will spin up fast (light), stiff, and not cost so much that I would be afraid to crash it. The November wheel that fits that was the 38 (they don't currently sell a 50mm clincher). The Boyd 50mm with with the 24/28 cx-ray (standard) build fit the bill the best for me.
