Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wheels that are too thin don't go well with the S5. I'm thinking a 404/303 combo is a happy medium especially for a lightweight guy like me. 808s are hard to tame in the crosswinds for me, and they look even chunkier.

303s seem to go well...

It's too busy. The crazy paint job on the frame and wheels combined with all that advertising is too much. Is there a bike in there? I bet the ride is awesome, though.

I think instead of a scale of 1-10. Rate it in degrees Fahrenheit. This bike would be 120deg or typical Phoenix in the summer time. It belongs to ColorChange on here.

Slide the saddle forward, carbon LTD 3T stem and not -17degrees, remove computer, carbon saddle rails, tire logos centered on wheel logos, crank leveled and theres a 10 for you right there. IMLTHO..Also can anyone find that picture ID64's Cervelo S3...one of the hottest bikes that I've ever seen!!

So the valve stem dictates the tire label placement. It may not be hot but it has to be that way. I guess it s one more reason to remove the gaudy zipp decals.

In order to get a 10 you must search through dozens of boxes of tires to find matching ones...a small price to pay...

When the sun comes up, I will bestow upon you all the new Zipp Vuka Sprint hotness. Until then here is my throwback double staged perfection shot.

Those tires come that way. There's no choice on "label" placement. You can call Vittoria and let them know they do not meet BF 41 standards.

Either that or stage the bike with the valve stems up pointed down, and label on the bottom. and no one will see it. BTW the throwback pic above is scaled down for BF right click copy image location and open in new tab. My wheels were staged that way in those pics, and you can't see the tire labels. Stupid Italians can't do anything right.

It looks like more than 5 1/2" which is what I thought he liked. I haven't ruled out him raising the posts for "perfection shots" to up his internet cred. Seriously, any more interest in hyper-reality and this thread is one prototype fabricator away from becoming the manga of bike porn. For some odd reason this clip springs to mind.

This in no way is meant against SA who seems pretty grounded. He does do his part to fuel the mystique of impossible standards though.

I think he could actually fit better on a 54cm, and use a longer 6deg stem. My choice will never be a 3T stem ever again however, especially not their lightest one. My ARX Team feels like a wet noodle compared to the current Alpha Q stem on my bike. I was actually considering the big heavy Pro Cavendish stem recently, but that thing is a boat anchor, and it may be too wide to fit my Vuka Sprints. I think right now the Zipp Service Course SL, and Ritchey WCS stems, are the best balance of weight, and stiffness. For some reason or another, I just can't stand the Ritchey logo, and styling, so I wait on my special ordered Zipp stem to arrive. Looks like the sun is almost up.

I eff it up all the time as previous pics have shown. I always think I have the bike staged perfectly outside, but by the time I get the pics on the computer one valve stem always seems just a bit off. It's a tough crowd around here. I just try to conform to the ridiculous standards set in this thread. I didn't set them, I just try to conform. Somehow my SLC/5200 double shot both bikes were staged to perfection. I don't know how that happened, but I am glad it did since one of those bikes is gone, and the other one has no paint, I'll never have another chance to try to stage them again. So I am glad it turned out.

I debated the getting a PRO track stem too but ended up with a Vibe 7s which is pretty stiff for a 140. I may try one of the carbon wrapped aluminum ones at some point but likely not on a solo ride.

I think you missed the joke that you are setting false standards by raising your seatposts up a couple extra inches for the photos. Don't go getting all OCD or anything. The picture is perfectly fine and sentimentally valuable.

Gotcha. I actually lowered the saddle recently about 10mm, and pushed it back 15mm. As long as it doesn't rain, I am going to try to get a ride in today, and see how it works out. I also put a 4mm spacer under my bars. I shall see how the fit changes work out. Anyway w/o any further wait. Here is the result. Vuka Sprints, and all!

Ask and you shall receive. -16g less w/o decals too. I prefer the "Beyond Black" decals. The wheels look naked w/o.
