Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This forum is about as loosely moderated as can be...look how long it took to shut down 2ndgen's last debacle. I'm sure its why people behave the way they do in this forum, but at the same time...its why this forum is so entertaining.

its actually not. next time just wait till your bike is actually finished. then post actual pictures of said bike. if the bike is hot then great.

hell even unfinished bike builds of frames with wheels and no components can be looked at as "hot"... at least its the actual bike.

but if the bike is voted not, and isn't your bike to begin with... then arguing about it makes it convoluted and pointless... the cover up becomes worse than the crime...

being passive-aggressive about the whole process only exacerbates everything.

I dunno what these pictures with names proves either way. I'm pretty sure I could get the monkey's at my LBS to let me take a picture of any bike in the shop with a post-it note on it.

(that was my Captain Kirk-like effort to end the stalemate by breaking a death box)

I don't mark my territory with initials on a post-it, I pee on it - the good ol' fashioned way.

More hot bikes, please, including the NDS of that bike, UCI - that's that half-an-half jobber, right?

No this is the Brigante. The half and half is the Team issue.

The chair and wainscoting height give that pic an odd proportion. It almost looks like that has 24" wheels.

Let's cut out the insults and personal attacks. A little fun is fine but keep up the name calling and the thread will be closed and infractions will be handed out.

JSS I have learned over time that you are fighting an argument you are never going to win, you have some nice bikes and I respect you for that alone

Kingfishr welcome to the forum and please stay you seem like a pretty positive guy and have a true love for the sport.
Thanks Captain :-) I bought my first real road bike a Vitus 979 back around 1983 and have been in love with cycling ever since. But maybe these guys are right, maybe the Ridley's frame and geometry is all wrong for me, after all 20mph was SO much easier on my Vitus...

Can't agree more. Almost everything was SO much easier back in 83.

Everybody fits a bike a little differently, the only thing that matter is how you preform and how you feel when you are done. Don't listen to these clowns....

The thing is, i also post my own bikes and new pictures, not the same one as last year (unless it is to compare). I can handle the criticism. So you guys caught him posting the "TYPE" of bike he just bought instead of the actual bike. He has already mentioned that that was a mistake. He then followed up with the actual pic. Not a big deal. Definitely not as big as you hawks are making it out to be. He still has a point which is UCI has been posting the same picture of each bike for the passed year and a half now. I honestly don't care who owns what bikes, but if you're going to bowl, you can't keep talking about the 300 you had once. Post some new scores or get off the team.

Once again, all 3 of my bikes have been posted in this thread about a half a dozen times, in a different setup EVERY TIME. UCI keeps posting the same shi*t (albeit beautiful) over and over. Just saying at least JSS is posting new stuff. I can google all 5 pictures of UCIs bikes but no other ones.

In the end, ironic or not (for me still posting here?? lol) we are still in the hot or not thread. Please tell me in all of those aside from (Now that ownership is established - not hot) where you guys are managing to stay on the thread rules, why should anybody else?

Edit: I finished reading the thread posts after I was typing this. Looks like he posted some updated pic. For that. OK UCI. I wrote all that ramble before I saw a new picture.
