Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Congrats on the weight loss so far. I lost over 100lbs several years back through diet and exercise (cycling).

I like the Madone. Very nice looking bike. As others have said, it isn't "hot" by definition around here, but it is a super nice bike.

I would say hot overall....I mean I like the bike, wheels and I am ok with the saddle....but the red pedals just don't work for me.

Congratulations on the weight loss and I hope you enjoy the bike, but it is NOT HOT

It just feels better than my S5... quicker when off the saddle, responsive, quite possibly overall, a better bike.
Holy billboard Batman! Still hot though.

Thanks! Yeah I took a break from BF because a lot of the threads were taking negative turns. When I popped on today I found a message from the mods from a couple weeks ago asking if they could shut this one down and have me start a new one. I guess it got bad for a while? Glad people got it going in the right direction again.

Btw I love Ridley Noah's and would love to own one.

Can someone break the rule for one pic. (non drive-side) Please show me exactly the right position for the skewer levers...ie. Quick release angle on the front skewer shall be an upward angle which tightens just aft of the fork and the rear quick release shall tighten at an angle that bisects angle between the seat and chain stays. It is acceptable, however, to have the rear quick release tighten upward, just aft of the seat stay, when the construction of the frame or its dropouts will not allow the preferred positioning. (the rules)

I want to double check mine.

EDIT:
I don't think my in-home stand allows for the correct postion of the rear sadly.

16.1lbs with aerobars (YES, I said aerobars). 15.0lbs in "roadie" mode. Weights are with a powertap hub and 404 clinchers. I'm 6'1" - I know its hard to make a larger bike look HOT.

PS, front presta is getting swapped out tonight. I only had 1 removable valve core latex tube and thats on the back. The front gets one tonight.

^nice!!

its nice how lightweight bikes these days are actually stiff/strong/robust.

before anything UCI illegal usually meant, super exotic tuned groupset and components, noodle-ly mess frame, and fragile wheels. now people can have 38mm-60mm stiff and strong rims, jam Di2 and powertap meters into bikes and still be UCI illegal.

I never thought I'd call a bike with clip on aero bars hot but it somehow works on this bike.

Not to mention it's a Roubaix. Pretty much a double sin on the 41. Rides like a dream tho, and the aerobars give 1.3kph at the same wattage, so the haters can suck it .

Don't forget to mention - comfortable. The Roubaix rides so nice, and in this smaller-than-my-normal-size it's got geometry similar to a Tarmac in my regular size.

I'd say that's definitely a finished product. That saddle/post combination is insane....In other words,it's sizzling hot.
