i present to you, my $150 nashbar (yes, nashbar...) al/carbon frame build that i've been constantly upgrading over the past year. Just got these 50mm carbon tubulars a week ago. I initially bought the frame with the intention of upgrading it late, but it's proved to be just fine.
I don't have a fancy smancy garage to shoot against. So here it is in my apartment.
Total build weight is 15.70lb as pictured and it's a blast to ride:

Really dig the nashbar. I've been thinking of getting one myself but a few reviews say there's a problem with the fd routing. Have you run into any?

Thanks! I read about people having issues with that as well but I haven't had any problems. Granted I had my LBS set up my cables on the frame and they didn't mention anything. Everything looks good to me.

Steerer will get cut soon, I think I've decided on that position.

The Soma looks hot but we need a better pic. Nashbar bike is hot too.

my nice bike is at home
I will see how much I like the new frame. The Colnago Ct-1 frame was built in 2003. It is constructed of titanium main tubes, carbon stays and fork. Sweet ride IMO. Built entirely of used components. All Campy all the time. Check out how old that saddle is and the avocet computer! ( since updated ) Photo is not the best but the ride quality is pretty great. Will get a more recent picture up soon.

However what makes it not-so-hot is the stem and the placement of the shifters on the handlebar. Take a better pic of the bike please.

^the white balance of the camera/photo seems a little off. you can see in the background that the white balance was set for natural light, but the subject/bike is actually in the shade. you can adjust the white balance manually using your photo application (usually under temperature settings).
wow is that the original fork of the soma? is it a carbon fork with fender braze ons? I love racier road bikes with fender braze ons.
I like the white stem, maybe repaint the fork white?

As for the fork, it is not a Some one; it is a Whisky Parts No. 7 full carbon fork. I will probably use a Crud Roadracer front mudguard if I need one.
Here is one I just took indoors (not sure if it much better, though
