Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here is a quick little photoshop I did to show how I think it would look "hot"

EDIT:
The black chainrings didn't look right because I had the contrast built up way to high. dropping the contrast and making the brightness fit on the crankset makes it look like it fits now. I like the black chainring option myself after seeing this fix.

If we are gonna change saddle height also, I would go something like this. (Obviously this is just for fun because if raising the saddle higher doesn't work then it doesnt work)

You know, my photoshop was purely in jest - a reference to 2ndgen and 'saddlegate' (the raising of his saddle for photo ops). Let's face it, all of us non-lanky types have felt a little bit of seatpost envy. BF takes it seriously.

maybe you need a compact geo frame to get your kicks on the seatpost length.

I'm 5'10 and ride a 48cm frame just so I can have a huge seatpost and stem

Yeah my current ride is compact geo. The drop is not too extreme, but I still have room to slam the stem in the future if I want to get lower. It feels fine as-is.

Since some people didn't approve of the green background in my previous pics, I decided to use the same background with my new bike.

I see what you were trying to do with the color combo's, but I personally ont think it works well. The blue bar tape and cage has to go (respectively IMO of course). I would go with white bar tape if you are going to keep the white saddle. Those aren't rival brake calipers are they? I think black brake calipers would look better. The green "k" series SLK crankset might go nicely with that.

OBVIOUSLY, all and any suggestions on what to buy or replace your items with to make it hot are based on my personal opinions and what your financial ability to spend extra money on your bike. I for one cant go out to buy "Hot" accessories to add to my bike just because someone suggests it.

There has only been 1 supersix in the green and blue combo I have seen that REALLY blows me away...(Yes I know it is a different year supersix with a little bit different design color wise)
Yes, this works. Hot!

NOT!
just got a 'new to me' '09 Tarmac Expert, in very nice condition - I Luv it! - except the compact handlebars

roadbars should allow you to be in a number of different 'positions', but with these compact bars, whether you're on tops/bends/hoods or drops the position all feels the same

Hot.
I think the flat black is the only tolerable (for me) finish on the new Shimano cranks. Their silver cranks just looks to "blobby" and clunky for my taste. Like someone spilled mercury on the crank. I far prefer open web type cranks aesthetically. Still, the black one looks really sharp on your bike. To my eye, a white saddle with black would be just right.

Thanks. Sorry for the poor pic angle. The saddle actually has a white accent stripe on it so it doesn't completely clash with the white bar tape. Here's a better shot of it. But perhaps I should get the white saddle with the black stripe. Hmmm...

aw man you got the valve stems and gear selection in the right place, but the crank angle is wrong!

It's HOT anyway tho.

Ohh. Nice.
In the spirit of senseless nitpicking, if the black/white of the saddle was inverted, it would match the stem/bars better, but hey, that's really nitpicky

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually like that BMC. Something about the lines of that bike and the Di2 looks really right. Also like the refreshing lack of crazy deep section wheels.

I love the gumwall look, too bad on two rides with the Vittoria tires I flatted three times. Now the Vittoria's are relegated to racing only.
