Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Straight seatpost, white saddle and bar tape, black tires, white or black bottle cage, silver spacers. To me the yellow really messes up the looks of what could be a great looking bike.

justfitme,
It has flavor. Maybe a carbon seatpost and stem. Line up the tire labels with the valve stems. For a really nice touch, use yellow swiss stop pads and yellow cable crimps. If you like it, ride with it.

Cheers,
Rick in Tennessee

Has nothing to do with traditional thoughts around here towards trek, I just dont like that Trek at all. I have seen a handful of treks that I like, this is not one of them. A trek has to be set up very aggressive to give it a chance for me.

Sorry, saddle bag, huge stack, no saddle to bar drop, angle of the bars, colored cables....Not

Love all of your bikes. As I said above, a trek has to have a super aggressive set up to look hot and your bikes are the definition of aggressive aesthetics. Love your bikes. You could have a huffy and I'm sure it would look sexy as all hell.

How'bout now?

White bar tape is not practical.
What if red tape/cages, black/red tires?

Black saddle, black bar tape and black cage then call it a day. The red on the stem doesn't really look that great but it can be overlooked. I can't stand colored tires, just me though and it's not my bike so do what makes you happy. That is really all that matters.

Accenting with red (or other colors) don't make much sense considering those colors aren't in the frame other than the flag.

Better, but don't bother with red. You will be back in the same boat.

white bar tape is perfectly fine if you get the right stuff. Both deda and fizik make white tape that isn't porous and cleans easily.

Also, white bar tape does fine. I generally replace mine a couple of times a year, or after approximately 2,500 miles or so. Considering how cheap it is I don't think that is too bad.

forget what the others are saying. This bike is hot. its got [euro] flair. i like it.

too many bikes without color.

some improvements: change seatpost (silver Ritchey), remove gold spacers and replace with silver, and get some speedplays (maybe yellow, preferably stainless)
