yes and the bars is still a bit high too I will rotate bars down to suit me as I spend more time in the saddle

fox farm which pin model?

Ally G, i agree, so many black bikes and while the stealth look is hot, some color every now and then is nice. I like the bike minus the saddle tilt and cross chaining.

Love the saddle!

bianchi10 02-20-13 05:11 PM

That ribble is a mess! fix that saddle. There is a point where personal preference goes out the window and it just becomes wrong. your bike is set up wrong.

Dont like red seat post. Dont like white stem.

Not...

lol figured that comment was coming. Ouch yeah serious cross-chaining there, too.

Also the rear brake cable housing looks way too long. I don't think it should bend upwards that far before turning down towards the brake caliper.

dtrain 02-20-13 05:27 PM

The frame (Ribble) has enough color and other stuff going on that the seatpost, stem, and loud wheel graphics really become way too much. I totally agree with b10 there. If those pieces were stealth black (at least the post and stem) - and the bars and saddle adjusted - it could look pretty nice. Maybe black 105 pedals and ditch the bell as well? +1 on the rear brake housing.

I realise that black appears to be the fashion of the this forum, but I will give my bike a viewing here. ( I believe my bike looks better on the road and whilst moving very fast!)

HAHAHA Didn't even notice that thing .As Rob13 said, the bike has some potential, but in my opinion it would take a lot to get it there. Swapping out the seatpost, stem and bartape. level that saddle and bars. Swapping out for black components will tone down an already "loud" bike to a point where your wheels wouldn't be so much overkill.

I dont recall seeing a wheelset where the decals are that far off. If both stems were centered at the bottom, the decals would be be off by a lot.

Bar tape should be black to match the saddle
Seatpost should be white to match frame and stem
The end of the handle bar should be aligned with the same angle as the top tube
The noze of the saddle should be pointing a little bit up
Chain not supposed to be in the biggest cog ...

This is only my opinion ...

from another thread ...

Mess? More like a circus with all that stuff going on. BTW, I went back and looked at my own bike- the shifters are not level-- fixed it. Still trying to figure out how I missed it- they were level before and the clamps are tight. Must be some "ghost-shifting"--- oh, that was bad.

+1, see that is what the forums are for. Kick you off your cloud ;) More than likely the one that was dropped a bit (I think your right shifter) was probably just a little loose and from the weight of your hands and you during a ride it just squirmed it's way down. GJ, cause that was pretty much the ONLY thing people were focusing on despite how nice of bike it is.

I vote Hot. Looks like a great real-world bike.

I think you'd do well to tone it down a bit.

Black bar tape
Black stem
remove wheel decals
level out that saddle (oh god)

werwer2012 02-21-13 08:18 AM

Nice Bikes, I am curious though. With the seat that high doesn't your back get sore bending over to reach the handle bars.

TampaRaleigh 02-21-13 08:24 AM

And now for something completely different. I'll throw my somewhat-vintage road bike out there to be shredded.

http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...ntitled-13.jpg
(Please note, the pedals have been upgraded to Mavic Race SL Ti clipless pedals. These were temporary replacements between when my Ultegra pedals broke and the new pedals arrived.)

R1lee 02-21-13 08:31 AM

Are white stems not cool? I'm a little concerned as my new bike has a integrated white stem/bar and the bike will be finished next week. Scared to post lol.

Probably just depends on the color scheme of the rest of the bike. I think white would look hot on a mostly white bike. But on a mostly black bike, eh not so much. My Felt (mostly black) actually came with a white stem, but was switched to a black one in the process of fitting, and IMHO looks a ton better.

needs a more flattering photo. And the seat angle is giving numbness in certain places just looking at it. not a fan of the seatpost. but everything else looks good

Good points to be fair, pic was taken just after i had built it up last night. I do ride a little nose up on the Flite but this was just eyeballed at this point and a little extreme, the seat post is scratched to hell and will be replaced soon.
