That Colnago has potential. But as it sits "Not".
Stem, cranks, valves, big ring, headset, etc.
The immediate Hot from a few just because it says "Colnago" is amusing. Almost as funny as the immediate Nots for Trek.

I will say that a better, lower angled photo with some of the 'rules' might help...

Personally and just out of respect for the frame, I'd love to give this Colnago a "hot" but it would be qualified at best. This paint scheme doesn't appeal very much (to me) and I find the bulky EPS battery distracting, not to mention what's already been noted about the photo in general, stem, etc...and what are those, colored valve stem caps?

two dilemmas:
1) Should I put the downtube decals on? (they are white lettered TREK decals)
2) Should I put on white bar tape and/or housing?

... Colnago! Hot! - Wait, what IS that???! That's some sort of weird graphics... Wait, never mind. NOT hot. I think the LdV is either love it or hate it but what I can't figure out is why a company of their stature would stoop to this and the "Jet" bike and other sort of cheesy renditions? What does a Jet have to do with a bicycle? I see a little bit of LdV's 'vision' of a bicycle some 400 years before it was invented but a Jet? Maybe they didn't have enough business in that era? Just idling thoughts sorry to Gridplan, but it's a not for me...

Well, if you dislike this one, you'll probably hate one of my all-time faves (apologies if I've posted this before). It's my 2005 Colnago BrerArt, which I upgraded a year or two ago with an 11-speed Campy Super Record gruppo. It's even more of a love it or hate it kind of bike than the Da Vinci.

^^ This Colnago BrerArt is hot in my opinion and staged nicely, not that I'd necessarily want to ride it for not desiring attention. But then I can appreciate PEGORETTI frames too.

No.
Agreed.
A few not aspects (valve caps, what?), but overall, hot.

Quite alright. It would be a boring place if we all liked the same things. :^) I don't personally find the graphics to be cheesy, but to each his own. FWIW, I don't like the Jet-themed Colnago either. It's not just that its theme is unrelated to bicycles. I don't see what it has to do with Italy. Commemorating a paisano like Da Vinci, I get; jets, not so much.

Don't get what people see in those colnago's. Just not my taste.
Where are the standards here? Staging? Stack of spaces? Chain on wrong gears? High angle stems??? Though, I do understand that sometimes a bike is just appealing to people regardless of the set up.
I know not everyone agrees with me, which is fine, but at least I'm consistent.

No white bartape.
IMO, I would go black saddle, zero offset seatpost, black crankset, rotate bars down (not because it stops it from being hot, but because I dont like how bars look when they are pointed at the cassette. PLUS, the position of those bars appear to not even be useful in a sprint in the drops. Your forearms would hit the top) and have matching tires.

I'm doing it wrong.

Probably not
there are no spacers under the stem. Head tube length is the limiting factor here. He can probably find a frame with geomatry that better suits his need, but this looks to be the biggest oclv he can ride to accommodate his bar drop. Neither the seatpost or stem look outrageous for a "race bike" anyway.

But like you say, it takes all kinds. And as long as they keep producing stellar bikes, I'm ok with it...

HOT. I doubt I'll ever see one one the road but always great to have something that stands out from the rest. This definitely falls in that category.

Nobody is going to drop thousands on a bike...set up the bike to that its a torture device for the sake of this thread.
I do understand this is purely a visual thread...but sometimes the suggestions can get ridiculous.

See...here's the thing. These are all personal bikes. If one has to follow some your "standards" a lot of these bikes would be un-rideable to the owner. They are set up to be ridden...not picture posers. The way bikes are set up...are personal preferences. Bar rotation is a personal preference. If they feel comfortable rotated up...then so be it. Same with spacers and the upturned stem.
