I want the bar tape to be the same color as the wheels. It looks urban assault-ish, but electrified.

I did noticed the mix and match of SRAM and Shimano. I too like the bike and this that the blue tires are what is attractive. The red micro splash bar tape screams 1990 to me and should go.

I do love that Bahula wasn't skeered to try something crazy, um, but sadly, it doesn't work. How about black saddle, black bar tape with red stitching or Cinelli Confetti tape or something WAY more understated. (It DOES scream 1990, FoxFarm is right) But... but... It's a good looking frame!
I don't know what to do with those blue tires. Wowsers. How about white sidewalls? I don't know, that seems more difficult to keep clean than white bartape. Ah, well, thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the comments and feedback everyone- interesting bike, interesting comments
Fiery- I agree that a black romin would fit much better at this point. The white one was the first thing I got when the bike was stock and had white tires, tape and saddle. At this point, $100+ for the sake of aesthetics falls on the, "eh, maybe next season..." list.
coppercook62- the bike has a BB30 bb and I didn't want to use an adapter, thus the red stuff. It also has the corresponding red cassette (which is hands-down one of the coolest things I've seen in recent memory from a manufacturing standpoint) and everything works extremely nicely together.

Yeah I'm gonna have to agree the Trek is a big 'ol pile of NOT. I hate that spoke pattern on the wheels, and the saddle is pretty fugly, too. Looks like an '80's BMX saddle just about.

HOT - I like this bike - I even like the spoke pattern. would love it more with flipped stem and white bar tape/Seat . hate the cages. It looks like a sweet ride - Enjoy it.

The trek hate is baseless. I, too, hated trek because everyone else did. I finally rode one and liked it then I bought it and i love it.

Not to everyone. I don't hate Trek as a whole, though I have been known to joke around about them.. I have seen some very nice set ups. It just happens that I find a large majority of them to not look hot. LOOKING hot and riding well are two totally different conversations though.

the only decent looking trek frame I can think of recently is the 2005 madone but even it had an odd head tube, town tube, and fork transition. Fantastic bike, but not as nice looking as say on old caad3.

Oh, and a lot of the hate come from killing Klein, bontrager, lemond, and Gary fisher. Who is at fault can be debated for eternity, but its still reason for some to hate.

The Trek has a triple, spd pedals and a sagging saddle bag. HOW can that be considered hot?

the trek is very blue I know lol. the race-lite wheels are blue as are the Michelin pro4's. the thing with all the blue is that the color match is rather impressive in terms of the shades of blue (and this comes from vw/audi enthusiast). I am not thrilled it has a triple, but its ultegra at least. pedals will be replaced in time but I really cant complain right now. the saddle bag: nice try on claiming its saggy...I hate that look and this is a small one and secured tightly compared to most of the rigs I have seen.
I am contemplating flipping the stem and evening the bars.

I actually said "Everything's blue in this world" when I saw that bike.
I miss old Nine Inch Nails...
Warning, graphic:
he couldn't believe how easy it was
he put the gun into his face
bang!
(so much blood from such a tiny little hole)
problems have solutions
a lifetime of ****ing things up fixed in one determined flash
everything's blue
in this world
the deepest shade of mushroom blue
all fuzzy
spilling out of my head

It always seems funny to me when people flip their stem but have 90 billion spacers.
