HOT, although I would remove the valve caps. I have to ask, was the photo shot inside an elevator?
Cheers

Looks like it's probably a double-sided elevator, or maybe a deep elevator like used in hospitals for a whole bed to fit into.

yup. the lift was inside a building where i store my equipment.

Love the Argon...Argon sponsors our team so I'm hoping to be on one next year. I've heard nothing but good things from my teammates.

That fluorescent lighting reflected from metallic walls makes the bicycle pop so well. Not to say that it is not hot in an of itself, but the light and background really brings it to another level.

I do have to ask though, do you really find the hoods comfortable pointing down like that?

Bingo........And some people think that lighting and background have no correlation to how a bike looks or is being presented. A hot bike will look extra sizzling when it is being shot with a proper surrounding and lighting.

Fiery 09-23-13 01:42 PM

And the best part that an elevator is nowhere near the first thing that one would think of when talking about a good background and lighting for photography. Unconventional and awesome.

PatrickGSR94 09-23-13 03:46 PM

Most definitely a NOT in that picture. Sorry bud.

I saw that Trek, not hot.

MingusDew 09-23-13 08:54 PM

Haha, I saw the Trek, but it was from a while back and my browser had been sitting on the page. By the time I got around to clicking on the thumbnail it was gone... O well, apparently it wasn't Hot anyways :) ...

Ghost Ryder 09-23-13 08:59 PM

Lol
It did get deleted, I think you hurt his feelings. :D
Looked like a Trek 1.2-1.5, it was shot in sort of a overhead angle. It was placed in a stand, & the background was quite busy.

Black/blue/white colorway, 56cm+.
;P

This is just wrong. Cannondale frame with Bontrager wheels and Specialized saddle?

Granted, I can understand. I'm guessing you got the bike from a Trek Superstore, which explains the 'Dale and Bontragers, and the Specialized saddle is just nice on the bum.

Level out the saddle and it'll get warmer.

Nope. Built the bike up myself, originally from a nashbar frame and random parts. Bought the Caad frame, rebuilt, got job at said bike shop and was demoing wheels. Took a pic cause I thought it looked good. And the seat is level and very good to my bum :D

bobones 09-24-13 01:40 AM

The CAAD is hot. I'm not mad on the shape of the bars, but that's just a niggle. Is that a long cage RD? Funky skewer handles too. Needs a better photo to do it justice.

If saddle was not too far forward, yes.

Today? No.

This is not the "Up-to-date-tech or not" thread. I'll admit I'm a sucker for chrome forks, and if you rebadged a Denali with a Columbus sticker I'd fight its corner on here, but the red-and-yellow colouring, vintage Dura-Ace group, and leather saddle are all hot in anyone's language. My only criticism would be to title the bars forward to get the drops level. Otherwise, that's a gorgeous piece of bike.

The picture leaves much to be desired, but that won't keep me from giving it a hot.

Question is hot or not. It is not.
IMHO

You said it was hot 20 years ago. This thread is littered with steel framed 20 pounders with downtube shifters and 42/52 rings. Why has this one not held onto its charms IYHO?

kcollier5 09-25-13 08:58 AM

^ What?! Motorola StarTac cell phones were blazing hot 15 years ago. Today... eh, not so much. Just because it was once hot, doesn't mean it always is. I appreciate what he's saying. I mean, I was probably hot at one point... ok, never mind. Bad example. ;)
