Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You know, it doesn't have any bands on it, like rock bands, band aids, or those little metal bands they put on birds' legs etc.

What about the fenders?

Hot.
You can afford that BMC, DuraAce, and Enve's, but not a Quarq or SRM?

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Thank you, rjones28.

Think you've watched Breaking Away one too many times. (Though the Cinzano guy probably did use a Silca pump in that scene.)

Appreciate the kind words.

See my seat post comment above.

BTW, I built this back up with a minimum of new parts. The list of new parts is:

1) Fizik handlebar tape
2) Jagwire Shift cable housing
3) Campagnolo front and rear cable housing (new, but left over from another build)
3) Omni braze-on derailleur adapter clamp

Everything else is used, including tubes (with patches), tires, and cables.
You are quite the polite forum member!

Thanks for the great feedback. IME, Quarqs are not the most reliable and SRM doesn't have their PC8 available yet. Secondly, using a SRAM crank on a DA bike would be a tragedy. I've used almost every type of powermeter out and I've been completely happy with the Stages; it's extremely light, more than accurate for interval and pacing purposes and it's inexpensive.

Thanks, however, I prefer my King Ti Cages to carbon cages. The cage was better bottle retention, it's easier to reinsert a bottle and they're the same weight as most Arundel or carbon cages. Moreover, the juxtaposition between a carbon race bike and the old school styling is pleasant.

Not knocking ya, just not something you see every day. And can't you get a Quarq with a non-SRAM branded crank arms?

After SRAM purchased Quarq, they slowly pushed out the non SRAM options. Also, I've had too many issues with Quarq units DOA.

That is true, but (and it's a very large but indeed) sadly, they're ugly. Mix good looking old school with good looking carbon and you are so right. THAT would be hot. However, as everyone else said, the bike is hot. Fortunately, it's degree of hotness outweighs the boat anchors.
