Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Agreed, and if so, then solid work.

The Reynolds RZR rear wheel has a central flange, so the spokes effectively go into three different flanges, that's why the spoking looks weird.

BTW, this thread is all about judging the bike that is posted. If you don't want to hear what people have to say, don't post a photo. I don't give a damn what people think, so I don't post a photo of my bikes.

I take it you only meant that your bike is not presentable (which is fine), not that you really don't care (which wouldn't make much sense).

Of course if people don't believe their own bikes are ready or worthy of examination, then they shouldn't post photos of them here, but the only way this thread isn't a bad idea is if we DO care, at least in some small way. And sure, plenty of people find themselves with homely bikes and without the resources to make them good looking. But if the question of whether ones own bike is hot or not is unworthy of consideration, then surely the question of whether anyone else's bike is hot or not is even LESS worthy of consideration. Besides, if you really don't care what people think, why on earth would anyone care what you have to say?

I haven't posted a photo of, any of my bikes because I don't care whether anyone here thinks it looks hot or not. What part of that doesn't make sense?

The central flange is the only way to transmit torque effectively for that wheel. The wheel is pretty hot in itself but that's what I thought about Spinergies about 17 years ago.

They look pretty hot, but I found that they were more laterally flexible than I would like.

If you don't post your bike because it's a **** bike, then your opinion holds no value whatsoever. It's like driving a civic and calling a bentley a POS. The guy in the bentley couldn't care less what you think of him, he's driving a ****ing bentley.

Do as you please, but everytime you say "not", we all laugh at you.

The point is to increase our appreciation of something we care about. If you don't care, then your opinion is is neither kind nor harsh, it's meaningless. It's one thing to not be sensitive to the harshness or kindness of what someone may say (in which case to 'not care what other people think' would make sense), quite another to willfully ignore or hold oneself above the kind of judgement one would pass on others.

Yes! And a question...how do you like the drops and the front suspension? I've been wanting to throw drops on an old mountain bike and make it an adventure bike, but never thought about using a front suspension. That's pretty cool.

It worked well for how I used this bike, but I plan putting low-riser bars on this, and putting these on a Salsa Cutthroat w/a rigid fork.

It's hot, but I think we both have the same problem holding us back from unreal out of this world hotness - Really classy frame DIMs but not the best choice in handlebars. Angled ergo bars just don't suit this style imo. Otherwise the bike is fixing to take noodle soups time trial bike out on a pity date.

Class. Don't listen to anyone who says it needs some color. Black says nothing and its what we fill in the blanks with that make it such a cool color.
