Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It looks fine. That's a great crank he has. I'm considering switching to force or red, but would still use my DA crank.

I must have gotten some grease on my hands when transferring stuff - long story short, hoods got super dirty, I took a wet rag (just water, no soap, no simple green) scrubbed a little, and the hoods looked like new.

Yeah, that's cool. I want blue hoods kinda. Kinda. Sorta. I really do want to get some red shifters and force derailleurs though. I love being able to get a pro deal on everything.

I understand. I figure my 7800 crank is probably as stiff as if not stiffer than red crank. With the stock rings anyway. Plus it's light. And I already have it.

Wellllllll, technically I live outside of Chillicothe and I run up to Cbus on weekends to ride with my grandfather, although I haven't been up in a while for riding (mainly just passing through on the way to Cleveland.)

Are you free on the weekends? We should ride together sometime!

I got a pretty good deal on the shifters and fd.... I had a credit at Performance that basically covered the cost of the rd.

Why not get a red rd? (I understand why for the fd)

Most of the benefits of red (zero loss on the rear) is in the shifter. The only thing you gain with a red rd is lighter weight. Force fd is better than the red one anyway.

What mike said. Cost difference is huge.

I guess it just depends on what the price point is then - it's really too bad that they haven't taken care of the Ti issue with the red fd because the red group is pretty impressive by even the most strict ww's.

To each their own i guess..I ride Red cranks and would trade them for DA 7900 compacts at the same price any day but I can find Red for half (or less) the cost of DA 7900.
