Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Could be a warranty issue.

^^^ Hot.

Why isn't the top tube decal visible in the first photo? I think that it looks much better without, in any event.

I removed them on both sides, the first picture is more recent, the others were before removal. Agreed it looks way better! I may take all the decals off completely

Merlin frames from the mid90's had very classy decals.

If that was my bike, I'd search for some vintage Merlin decals, or have some replicated at a local print shop.

Thanks pretty much what was in the back of my head. Rims are off of my norco it'll probably only ever have the american classic aluminum on them IRL. Ive been playing around with height of bars to try to get it dial in, once I've decided, ill get the excess will be cut. I may also go for a less beefy stem in the future.

Velocals is a good company, but as far as I know they don't do custom work. I was looking for decals for a fairly obscure old Italian frame and while they had some, they weren't very accurate. So I got some photos from the web and worked with a local sign/decal shop (they do striping, door logos, branding stickers, etc.) and I am very happy with what they came up with. We had a few back and forth sessions where I'd actually sit with them and we'd work out the decals size, shape etc. That's what I'd do if I were you.

A year or so later, I actually found some new-old-sock OEM decals on ebay from a guy in Italy. There's minor differences with the ones my local shop made, and I plan to have a duplicate set of the OEM decals made for posterity and then put them on the bike.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the positive comments. I have carbon bikes but I got this in 2009 when I was 16 and it's like my child. I am confident I will never get rid of it. I ride it wayyyyy more than any of my other bikes too. Ti and a mechanical groupset is just soothing to me.

And after 7 years it still looks completely brand new! If I ever quit riding this frame is just getting mounted on my wall as art.
