Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My bike was built up that way about 13 years ago. I can't speak to whether it's a thing now.

I would see this done on high end builds, and it makes me think that it just looks so incomplete.

And that Litespeed isn't bad, crank sticks out like a sore thumb, as does that yellow tape. Just doesn't seem to flow even though it sort of matches and I can see why they picked that.

Nice. Yellow seems to be the right color for Ti bikes, and I like the bright bar tape - and the shiny seatpost and stem.

Which compact bar did you mate with the quill stem?

Soma Highway 1 (26.0 clamp diameter). Needed something shiny, with a short reach and 26 clamp diameter, so this was the one!

thanks 10GB !

I have an Ultimate on the the stand for a rebuilt, those will likely be the bars to mate with my Litespeed 1" threadless Ti stem.

Yep, they're great. Mirror polished, too.
Wish I had a Litespeed ti stem for my build, but I got it as a frame (no fork even) so I used a new Nitto Dynamic alloy stem. It's in a custom 1" threaded Wound Up fork.

Your built inspired me, I have the ultimate on the back burner since last fall.

The nitto stem and wound up fork really complemented the natural Ti finish. The Bars really modernized the entire look.

Great Job.
