Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't take this the wrong way, but it kind of looks like a kid's bike - the paint scheme really accentuates the geometry. And while I recognize the wheels, in combination with that frame, they look wide. Looks perfect for racing around the neighborhood, but of course it's much more capable than that. Very cool.

Thanks . The compact geometry really does make the bike appear small, but Giant's geometry just works for me. As for the wheels I was on the fence about getting 50-58mm and 38-40mm wheels. I ended up getting the Cosmics for such a good price I couldn't pass them up.

My first bike (commuting on road), are flatbar allowed?

I know I'll get some hate but it's not a bad look IMO

No. A flat bar commuter might not get much love in this thread, but at least take a proper photo of the bike for submission. See how the top bike has their wheels lined up, the drive side is facing the viewer, the crank is angled with care, all lights, bottles, and clutter have been removed, etc allowing the viewer to take in all the parts of the bike without being distracted.

Sorry but frame pumps have always been sexy. It was a lapse in aesthetic standards that caused their fall from style in the 90s/2000s, not the opposite. With all the hubbub around Silca's new pumps in the custom world, they are definitely coming back.

Not hate, just chastisement and upturned noses.
If this was the forum of boardwalks, commuting, a bit of off-road and riding around the neighborhood with your kids, etc., OK, it's pretty hot. But it's not, so it's not.

Oh I see. In that case I'll up my game next time, thank you good sir.

I'll take the compliment.

Seriously, some really stunning bikes around this thread, many of which I've never seen before. Will Definitely influence my next bike choice, on the aesthetic level.

Before you wrap the bars, put the bar end shifters back on! Nice bike though!

Thanks, the bars will be wrapped with some NOS Cannondale leather bar wrap. I don't like barcons so the brifters will stay. It rides quick and smooth.

We're the same size and it looks like I have a Cannondale on the horizon. They're one of the last few with a traditionally shaped frame with the horizontal TT. It's hard to find one these days.

A+ bike.
