Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love that GT, super rad. the fork is killing it tho, triple triangle looks really sweet with a wound up.

Not mine, but I'd love to build up an edge next.

Been ~15 months since I've posted in here, I think that's outside the statute of limitations. That, and aside from bottle cages, seatpost, and the actual frame, nothing remains from the last posting...

My favorite comment from last time around was that the bike looks like a surplus Korean War era Jeep. I'm hoping I've kept with that aesthetic.

Nah, the frame would probably crack then!

A nice bike, but not "hot".

BTW, wtf is up with that saddle?

I'm wondering why the rear looks eccentric.

That's the bike painted with gun coating? I like it a lot and love the name.

It's a Selle Anatomica Titanico X, and when set up properly, that's what they look like. I certainly agree that aesthetically, it's not in the top 20 saddles out there, but comfort-wise, it's a far and away #1.

If you mean the chainstays, it must just be the angle of the photo-- they're parallel and not eccentric.

Yes, Duracoat 2-part gun coating (WWII OD Green.) And because nothing at all sticks to Duracoat, the lettering is all Duracoat (HK416 black) as well.

What is that mount for the CO2 cartridges, or did you just strap them on? Looks like it says Lezyne on it?

Is that the bike that had all the bullets on it?

More a matter of the rotor looking like it's not centered on the wheel, but of course in reality would have to be.

So, not properly staged and a crappy cell phone pic, but just out of curiosity I'm posting my old frame. 2006 Trek 5.2 team with full ultegra.

Sadly i must agree. Really nice bike, I'd love to take it from you .... except it looks too small for me. It has everything a bike needs and a little extra ... but I wouldn't call it "hot."

I like the frame (even though it carries the weight of Lance on its carbon shoulders) and the wheels, but the saddle is way too nose down. It'd also look much better IMO with black pedals, modern compact geometry drop bars, and a flipped stem. I also think 7900 levers look goofy.

Saddle nose is too far down--I'll admit to that (one of the reasons my new frame is a 54 instead of a 56). You're the first person I've ever heard that doesn't like the 3T Rotundo classic bend bars. Levers (and everything else) are 6700.

It's funny you bring up Lance. This same frame with a similar build is posted somewhere in this thread from years ago, prior to Lance's ultimate disgrace, and that build got a lot of "hots." I wonder if the automatic association between this frame and Lance has a subconscious effect on people's judgment? Or maybe I'm full of crap.

I had a USPS colored Trek 2500 and it took a nosedive in popularity around the time Lance admitted to his misdeeds. Definitely a conscious thing.
